  1. Why not get hyped? He read the defense made accurate throws and sometimes led the receiver to being open with his throws and delivered on time. Ran well and when he should have. I’m hyped. It doesn’t matter if a defense is “bad” If you’re not accurate. But he was so bring it on.

  2. Personally, I am done with transfers on defense.  The transfer portal is a crap shoot.  I'm sure there are quality players but there is a reason most of these kids are transferring and its usually a lack of playing time because they just aren't that great.  The JC route is probably better than the portal.  Let's go recruit some highschool defensive players by someone that can evaluate talent and coach them up and develop them.  It may take a couple of years but this portal route was one of CJS's downfalls, in my opinion.  The offense is solid.  Just get a defense that can stop someone more than once or twice a game.  I know the kids are playing as hard as they can and they haven't quit it seems.  That is good.  But, oh my, our defense just isn't up to par.

  3. The real issue, in my opinion, is we can’t make an outside shot. I can’t recall a single outside shot made in the second half. Maybe it happened but I don’t think so. I think 100% of our second half points were from the paint or free throw line. They made several threes and took away our transition game. You can’t win close games that way. You have to be able to shoot. Both teams were horrendous from the free throw line. That wasn’t the issue. We just don’t recruit shooters. We recruit athletes that are more slashers. I do like the new point guard. I wouldn’t have taken him out of the game for a minute. He has great vision but either needs to learn to shoot better or dish more. However he’s going to be solid.

I think the fact that we don't get to see wins has gaslit us into some wild insanity where down is up.  AKA a very 2022 human reality as the world collapses in on itself.

Totally agree on the record. It is abysmal. Totally horrific. No gaslighting here. I agree 100%. What I do see is progress and my feeling is that this progress will find its way into the W column in the next two games and once it starts we will frequent the W column more than the L. I’ve seen so much progress I believe, or maybe am hoping, that is the case. I’m choosing to get optimistic. I’ve seen teams get over the hump before and we have all the signs it is about to happen here too. Losing GB was a huge blow but I still think it’s possible without him.

  5. The advantage is that we need new leadership. I say this with sadness. Georgia Tech upset Pitt one week after firing their coach. Sometimes a team just needs a change. It’s not about liking or disliking CJS as a person. This team can’t win with him leading the ship. 3 years and the start of this season is enough. Let’s clear CJS out, put in an interim, and start a search for a new coach. Time to move on.

We know for sure one pick six was receivers fault.  There have also been lots of drops.  And yes when ppl can't get open QB basically had to force.

Still, he has also had bad throws.  Still, he threw a bad pick with the game on the line at Florida that gave them the win.  And yeah frankly he looks like a bust in this offense.

It's just a perfect storm.  Everyone's at fault and it's simply not working.  We may as well go triple option at this point.

I think some of it is how the games are playing out.  Other than at Florida we have been finding ourselves behind early and by a lot.  This forces us to play catch up and GB starts to force things to try and get back into the game.  The more that happens the more the defense is on the field and it snowballs.  It is the chicken and the egg problem.  We aren't playing complementary football.  Bad offense leads to bad defense and its a terrible cycle.  At Florida, the offense sustained drives and the defense stepped up.  My opinion is that the offense absolutely HAS to score early for a confidence booster both for the offense as a whole as well as the defense.  Without that this will keep happening and nothing will change.

  7. I am an adamant CJS fan. Love his demeanor and how he represents the school and his whole persona. However, it has reached the unacceptable phase. Lay an egg against ECU and he has to go, ala Scott Frost. At some point you have to cut your losses. I know it sounds like another fire CJS thread but it’s a wait one more week and let’s see thread. Even my patience is running out and I have a lot. We looked lost yesterday

This one was the play before the interception at the end of the game that let the Gators take the lead. I get the pass might be a foot off from perfect but with no defenders around you have to catch that. With that catch we likely win up 4 with 5 minutes left on their side of the field

I agree.  When the play happened live I felt like the receiver didn't even make a good attempt at it.  I circled that play when it happened.

  9. On Saturday all I want to see is swag.  Playing with a chip on their shoulder that says, "Bring your best shot".  This is what I always saw back in the USF glory days.  The players weren't the most talented and we didn't have the depth but I tell you our Bulls played with swag.  The defense was absolutely relentless to the ball and the offense played simple and executed.  That is all I want to see.  I don't want to see the defense constantly back pedaling and waiting for the game to come to them.  Go out there and get them and swarm to the ball.  We used to get burned because we over pursued.  Now, no one has to do any misdirection plays because we sit back on our heels and get pushed around.  Its absurd.  Go out and hit someone and hit them hard.  That is all I want.  I could care less at the score if this happens.  The score will take care of itself.

What do you want to see?

Agreed, and if a turnaround is to take place this year, Bohanon will likely be the someone who sparks it I'd imagine. There are plenty of weapons on offense, and if he manages to get in sync with his receivers, then maybe the confidence problem that you mentioned gets fixed and this starts to look a lot different.

Agreed 100%. I hope it happens because I like CJS. Seems like a good guy and a good representative for USF. However, you have to win!!

Do you seer that leader on this team?

We’ll find out soon enough. We need to win and win this year or CJS is gone, in my opinion. I believe we need to win a game soon that we aren’t expected to win or this season will get away from us. Someone has to step up. I’ll anxiously await the results
