  1. I'm looking for anyone on here that would like to make a tax deductable donation to the Ice Bulls, or if you business wants to make a small donation. We are having $ issues. Our transporation is not paid for, there fore we all drive or fly ourselves every where... against FAU we had a player get stranded because of car trouble, in Texas a player got stuck in MInnesota because he connected some where alone, etc... Also with a donatations ($150) it would allow transportation from USF for students, as the Shuttle worked out a deal so we would only pay that much so more fans could show up. If you are interested please email me at USFIceBulls@aol.com. Bull Love!
  2. There was talk about the ice bulls moving up in division, but there is a problem with that. The only team D1 NCAA team in the south is Alabama-Huntsville, there would be a lot of travel involved. Other teams would have to make the move also, even if Title 9 wasnt a factor.
  3. You can contact Jimmy D. about the site @ Jamesd@icebulls.org, let him know that this site (bullspen) talks about USF sports including Ice Hockey and have them linked. And tell him to add scores etc.
  4. The new Ice Bulls website is up with player pictures. stats. and information. www.icebulls.org The Ice Bulls go down to Coral Springs this Friday to take on 5th ranked FAU, a win would keep the Bulls on the road to Nationals...
  5. FGCU beat them 22-0 2 weeks before... and only had 40 something shots... everytime we shot we hit it at the goalies chest, or just fell on it my accident ET on suicide watch...was FSouthern his school ?
  6. The USF Ice Bulls win tonight with shots- 83 and Florida Southern shots- 14 with a win of 15-0. Bobby had a record 7 goals tonight, and goalie Perkins made his 1st appearance. Come cheer on the Ice Bulls in Coral Spring against FAU Dec. 3rd. Not another game until January.
  7. game at the Lakeland Civic Center tomorrow night...
  8. USF beat FGCU last night, 4 to 3. The USF goal tender had over 60 shots, and was 4-2 in the last minute when he took a knee to the head and now has a concusion, on a 6 and 3, FGCU scored making it 4-3, but still pulled off the win. Beating #1 ranked FGCU, giving FGCU their 1st loss of the season! Come see USF play Florida Southern on Thursday (FGCU beat them 22-0, so you'll get to see a lot of the players who dont see much time make some appearances) Come out and support the Ice Bulls!
  9. Another big game this Saturday against #1 ranked FGCU, a win would cancel out the loss from UGA and keep us ranked high. Hope your friends are ok!
  10. USF lacked the scoring changes, with very few shots on goal (its a shame because UGA has a weak goalie). On the first shift a player went into the boards and heard "a pop," needless to say he went out and to the hospital with a shoulder injury. It was a very slow game, with USF making costly mistakes. A winger went to shoot it out of the zone and placed it right on the stick of a UGA player (who scored). Little mistakes, and Little shots cost them the game. They need to get this out of their heads as they play #1 ranked FGCU this Saturday at the Brandon ISF.
  11. Yeah the Ice Bulls were at Beef O Brady's in South Tampa. 620 was broadcasting from there... HUGE GAME LATER TONIGHT.... Everyone show up, and if you come say hi; Ill be behind the bench (in the stands) wearing an usf ice bull shirt that either sayd Ice Bulls or #67
  12. You may have alcohol in the bleachers but it must be in a clear cup; last year there was no alcohol allowed after a few incidents on resulting in ISF being cleared and the teams (USF vs ERAU) having to play the last 10 minutes with no fans. There is a bar at ISF too. Channel 10 is going to come out, I also contact Fox 13 and Channel 8. Tampa Tribune won't come out (I accidentally called them the St Pete Times in a email and I think made them mad), and Im still waiting to here from the St Pete Times to see if they should be present. I also went around USF Tampa and posted that flyer (seen above) 200 of them, on all the dorms, classroom, MC, etc... I want a huge crowd for this UGA game!
  13. Thanks for coming out to that game, any support is always welcomed. Kennesaw came out and cheered us on for awhile, which I thought was nice. We did suffer a few injuries, the boy that hurt his knee is now on crutches; not to mention the injuries the night before. We play UGA this weekend at home and it should be huge, Ill post the results after the game. Go Ice Bulls!
  14. ***UPDATE*** After talking to the man that wrote the article, who was not informed on the Ice Bulls, and had wrong scores etc. They are writing a new one to be published in the next two weeks talking about how GOOD our USF ICE BULLS ARE! This was the quote from the article: "There is a team based out of the University of South Florida. But that bit of information comes with all sorts of asterisks and disclaimers. Make no mistake, the IceBulls are not in the class of Michigan, Maine or Minnesota. They couldn't even carry the water bottles of Middlebury, the reigning NCAA Division III champion. The IceBulls, a low-level club team, are to college hockey what Angola is to Olympic basketball. On a recent road trip, USF lost two games by a combined score in the neighborhood of 21-1. But who's counting? If you absolutely have to get your hockey fix, you can watch the IceBulls play Embry-Riddle at 8:30 p.m. on Saturday at the Ice Sports Forum in Brandon. Then, on Monday, go see a therapist." They failed to mention on that road trip to New York they mercy ruled CW Post 14-1 (ended in the 2nd period), beat UCONN... and their lost to Wagner (42-2 last season) and Princeton (38-1 they also handed Wagner their 2 losses)
  15. The Bradenton Herald wrote a HORRIBLE article about the Ice Bulls, how they do not even deserve to carry water bottles, the only games that were mentioned were the losses to D2 Princeton and D2 Wagner, I am so mad about it, and Im getting the run around the Herald trying to get my letter printed. The St Pete Times wrote a nice article last year, It even made the front page of sports, Im working with them right now **hopefully** getting another big article written as the boys are 3rd in D3 South right now. That was a clip about the goalie last year, the year before that he was ranked 3rd in the NATION in D3.
  16. Round #1 rankings are up: top 5 from south as followed: 1-FGCU 2-Texas Tech 3-USF 4-University of Texas 5-UGA As we know from last year the only ranking that matters is the 3rd one.... The top 3 get a bid to national (the last ranking #3 determines those 3)
  17. USF faced their first loss on Friday against Kennesaw. Missing 5 players (including the leading scorer, 1st line defender) and several other key players, USF took the ice. USF started their second string goalie, as GT was the next day and thought they could manage. Within the first 10 minutes an USF player was hit into the boards head first, when he yelled at the ref because of the brutual hit he was ejected from the game. A few minutes later a USF player seperated his shoulder and was taken to the hospital. By the end of the game another player from USF was ejected. The final score was 4-0 only to realize Kennesaw had over 21 players on the bench which would mean a forfiet if they can prove it, so that is in the works. SATURDAY- With players missing and now several injuries USF took on Georgia Tech. The first period was a 1-1 tie as USF took several hits (including a knee injury), with superior goaltending from the USF keeper, GA Tech was denied goal after goal allowing USF to rally putting up 7 goals in a 7-2 victory against Georgia Tech. COME SUPPORT USF VS UNIVERSITY OF GEORGIA THIS SATURDAY, THIS WILL BE GOOD AS THEY ARE FIGHTING FOR A TOP THREE RANKING IN THEIR DIVISION.
  18. The game against Florida Southern is canceled on the 5th. The game on the 6th is still on, HUGE game if we keep doing how we are doing and hand UGA a loss, and FGCU a loss the next weekend.... in March we will be in Nationals!
  19. The USF team beat the Alumni team last year, so the Alumni team is looking to redeam themselves.... old men
  20. USF has played at the Forum (when it was the Ice Palace), they actually kept the ice before all the games during Stanley cup play offs and skated before the Lightning so they can prepare the ice. Georgia and Georgia Tech play at the Thrasher's arena and draw in thousands of people, they also have A LOT of sponsors and support. USF only has the CASINO for a sponsor (so it you want to make a tex deductable donation let me know), it all comes down to money issues, and the fact that we have a lot of trouble having fans come out to games compared to other schools. Also the ice on the rink is a little less than 3 inches thick, its very shallow, if it was that deep it would be hard to see the logos underneath the ice.
  21. At the last home game there were maybe 50 people (as the USF homecoming game was going on) we usually draw an ok crowd, other schools sell out. Against Embry Riddle the fire marshall came and stopped letting people in their rink, FGCU had 600 people at their home opener... I wish we could so that, hopefully soon. I think we average 100 or so depending on USF football. The FGCU rink, is played on the smaller rink not in the main arena, so it doesnt cost them much just regular ice time. As for Florida Southern I believe the minor league team supports them for their home games. One of our players works for the lightning and we cant have a game there. I do not even think there is ice in the forum right now, it would cost to much to keep if there isnt any hockey going on. It would cost an obscene amount of money to have a game their right now; something that the forum does not want to do. There was talk last year about playing before a lightning game (in Texas they played before the ICE BATS, a minor league team) but with the lockout it didnt even go into the works.
  22. They play at the Lakeland Civic Center, if you need an address let me know. The game time will be determined on Thursday, so I will post it then. The games in Georgia are being played in Marietta, GA (both GT Tech and Kennesaw games are being played there) If you need a rink name, let me know. Ill remind everyone before the UGA game.
  23. Hey Boys, Any ice hockey question can be directed through me, I posted that copy and pasted sch. on the usfbs site. The Ice Bulls faced the University of Texas this weekend (who was undeafted) they won 3-1 and tied 4-4, which was very contraversal as UT did not finish the game (they shorted the clock 2 minutes and would not go into over time) We travel to Atlanta this weekend to face Kennesaw and Georgia Tech, we should come home with two wins. ACHA ranking comes out this week, it doesnt mean anything only the 3rd ranking means anything. The new USF site will be up and running in the next two weeks, complete with player bios, etc etc. Come out and support the ICE BULLS Nov 6th for one of the biggest games of the season against UGA, Free with USF ID, and if you contact me ASAP I might be able to arrange a few free tickets.
  24. CULLIMORE GOES TO BLACKHAWKS "When Jassen Cullimore was allowed to become a free agent, the Tampa Bay Lightning made it sound like that was really just a technicality, and that negotiations to re-sign him were under way. But it looks like they did not negotiate hard enough. On Thursday the Chicago Blackhawks are set to announce they have signed Cullimore, who agreed in principle to terms with them Wednesday. Chicago has plenty of money to work with and had already signed Matthew Barnaby and Curtis Brown. The Chicago Daily Herald, which broke the Cullimore story, says the Blackhawks might still go after a top-price forward like Paul Kariya, Pavol Demitra, Ziggy Palffy or Glen Murray. Cullimore was thought to have been seeking a three-year deal averaging about $3 million per season, and reportedly Tampa Bay only offered a two-year, $4 million contract. Chicago head coach Brian Sutter told the Daily Herald "There were nights when we weren't nearly as strong or physical enough a team to play on defense... now we've added Cullimore. He's a big, strong man who plays big and strong." Cullimore is 6-4, 240 and was the longest tenured Lightning player. After breaking his wrist in Game 3 of the first-round series against the Islanders, Cullimore was out but then came back sooner than expected to help defeat Philadelphia in Game 7 of the conference finals. He then played a big part in slowing down Jarome Iginla, for the most part, as Tampa Bay defeated Calgary for the Stanley Cup. "
