  1. Not to throw water on you guys but for those of you who said they'd sign up but never buy it...  Guess what.  The 1000 means 1000 orders completed.  So even if the ticker hits a thousand, you have to actually buy the magazines you've pledged.  If 1000 orders aren't taken in then your money is returned.

If I can buy season tickets, go to a bowl game, buy a game ball used in the bowl game, etc . . . . do you not think I might order more than one copy of the magazine?

No I believe you will.  However, there have been posts on here where the person directly stated they didn't intend to buy the mag.  Plus some folks have pledged like 6 or 7 times.  2 to 3 I could see but 7?

  2. SB...double-check again with your Associate AD.

USF's new drug policy (all sports) calls for a 20% suspension for a 2nd failed drug test...which in football...only comes out to a 2 game suspension...down from a SIX Game suspension...when the penalty was 50% of any season.

    [smiley=loser.gif]

Well I thought USF did the right thing when they made the players sit for the originally levied suspension.  I suppose some people would think it was due to media scrutiny or what not but we'll never know.  I'm not against the 20% rule since it is in line with the rest of the Big East (Note i haven't checked that fact).  But it does seem to be problematic that a lot of players have been getting a lot of chances but not making good on it.  And I think TripB is piling on to someone for agreeing with the veracity of that.  Big man, TripB's a big man or something.

  3. Windbane, I don't understand why you think this is a meaningless thread? This is not a condescending question, but how long have you been following USF football?

Every year we have guys kicked off for various issues, I've been watching it happen since '99. The thing that is interesting to me is that they are more often than not "quality" players. Jon Chivas being the earliest I can recall and the list goes on.

The reason it is worth talking about is because it says something about the integrity of our PROGRAM. CJL does not care WHO you are, you cross the line you are out. When I was younger I hated this but now I understand why it HAS to be done.

Please let us never minimalize this issue.

PB...FYI...CJL did not kick Julmiste out of the program.

Julmiste was kicked out of the program because per USF ATHLETIC Dept RULES, where it states that if ANY USF Athletes in ANY sport fails 3 drug tests, you are immediately kicked out said program.

Believe Windbane (or name like that) was trying to make the point earlier in the thread to you.

Now CJL can kick a player out of his program for ANY reason...and could of done that same for Josh...by not letting him enroll at USF because of his prior arrest...not allowed him back on the team after he was kicked off because of the theft case...and could of kicked him off after his first sign of drug use (before his first test), then could of done the same after his first positive drug test...or even after his 2nd failed drug test, but never did.

That could be the most pathetic thing I've read in quite sometime?  What is the point KL because you're arguing semantics?  Are you saying in the most unsubtle attempt, that if Leavitt had his way Julmiste would be playing?

Sorry charlie but he doesn't operate like Georgie...who typically let guys play on like Marshall, Travonti Johnson, and Smith after major issues.

Oh now that's bull crap.  You're saying that Marshall, Johnson, and Smith had any issues that even compare to what Julmiste did?  Smith missed a team curfew by 20 minutes.  That's the equivalent of grand theft, and illicit drug use?  You're a master of spin.  But this doesn't even qualify as spin, it's just a bald faced lie.  Congratulations, you've proven once again how low you can sink.

  4. That should make the tailgating more enjoyable.

In all honesty, what is the difference between tailgating at RayJay surrounded by Bulls fans, flags all over the place and doing it at an OCS?

I guess it's like trying to explain what an orgasm feels like to a virgin.  I'll let you know but it might be hard for you to understand.  You have to be there to really know.

  5. Most the people I know go to hang with family and friends while tailgating, if the football is good it's as my office mate just said "an added bonus".

Which has nothing whatsoever to do with having an OCS.... just wanted to point that out.  ;)

I dunno.  We keep hearing from everyone how much tradition means to college sports and how an OCS is part of that.  That should make the tailgating more enjoyable.  I hear this from a lot of the Gator grads.  So of course that means there's only a 50/50 chance it's correct.

  6. smoke and mirrors at UCF

I would believe UCF is outrecruiting us if they could actually beat us or win some football games...

I have faith in CJL and co that we are bringing some high quality under the radar athletes

Okay so you have an issue with understanding past tense and present tense.  Additionally, you find it hard to believe that events occuring today will have ramifications for the future and not the past.  That is all.

  7. whether leavitt likes it or not it is a rivalry today

Big rivalry smazz   ;D  ...are you flying into town to join the other 1900+ Bulls fans at the Citrus Bowl?  That is huge man...Huge!  Please, this is hardly a rivlary...you've been overmarketed my friend.

Well when you add in the additional 1250 students, this is the second largest travelling contingent in USF history.  This is the LARGEST travelling contingent to a regular season away game in USF'S HISTORY.  The small number doesn't represent USF fans' lack of interest.  It represents USF's lack of fans.

  8. Where are the UCFr's applauding this decision?  If it was the other way, u betcha there would be a gaggle of 'em piss n moaning about how USF is not tuff on drug offenders.  Anyway I hope these kids are embarrassed and have learned a hard life lesson.  Gonna blow smoke...don't forget to take you masking agent...err I mean you're gonna pay the price.  :)

I gave props on the smack board.  I felt it might be a little out of place to come up here and clap.  I know it's a painful thing for the kids.  But since you called, yeah I give big props to USF for sticking to their guns.  And yes I feel bad for the guys who have to sit out so many games.

  9. Maybe it's because he uses the bull rush to get to the quarterback.  That #44 is some kind of beast at DT.

I don't think UCF has regressed.  Except maybe at receiver because Willie Thornton and Rocky Ross continue to drop passes.

I could be wrong, but I think UF may just be flat out amazing this year.

When you hear their two deep chart, it is like a who's who in college recruiting over the past three years.  We'll know more after Tennessee.

  10. Is anyone really going to put money on this game either way?  I'm just going to put mine on the Over for every game left on Boise State's schedule.

FYI...Boise St did not cover the OVER in their last game.

    O/U: 59

Final Score: Boise St: 42      Oregon St: 14

That wasn't boise's fault.  Oregon state just got pounded.

I was really sad to see Oregon beat Fresno State.

  11. You are talking about the Florida Gators here.... How did anyone expect UCF to size up.  GIve me a break. You are talking about a school that went out and signed the number 1 recruit in the country Percy Harvey.  THe number one Quarterback in the country in Tim Tebow.  They have an athletic endowment in the 100's of millions.  It is freakin UCF.  I just think people get a little over them selves when they don't reconize the level of talen in that and those programs.  We are talking about kids that aren't just all-state selections.  We are talking about kids who are the best in the nation at their position.  Look at Jarad Fayson...  The kid would play every down at UCF -- but barely touches the ball 4 or 5 times for FLorida.

    Night and day boys.

Um and you recruited Fayson with everything you've got.  Not to mention Ingram.  But they all chose to be receivers at UF who touch the ball 4 or 5 times a game instead of being teh starting QB at USF.  You're in the same boat.

  12. Tomorrow is the last day before USF will release their tickets to UCF!  If you need tix, buy them from US, otherwise there is no guarantee of where you will be seated!!!    :)

Do you know how many tickets USF has sold for this game?  I was hoping to top 50K for this game in Orlando, but it seems that if USF is sending tickets back, there will not be that many.

We are bringing a good deal you people just alot of them bought them threw ticketmaster or your ticket office. Note alot of UCFers I know did the same last year.

True that some UCFer's did buy through ticket master.  However, UCF actually sold their full allotment and requested a second allotment and sold that as well.  So we're able to show that we sold more than the original allotment.  Whereas, it's not looking good for USF.

  13. I have no idea what the travel numbers were for Miami, I wasn't there and don't remember the number.  As for you claiming that the bowls are judging us based on how we travel for this game is hilarious.  Your self importance is overwhelming.

Try to grasp this.  Bowls do judge teams based on how they travel to away games.  If an away game is within an hour away and your fans don't travel, why would that inspire confidence in a bowl commitee?  Notice that nowhere in that argument did I need to mention UCF.  I know that you're not this dull, but your side-stepping the logical conclusion is getting a bit old.

  14. There is at least one big reason you should travel to UCF and it has nothing to do with us.

BOWLS will judge the loyalty of your fan base around this game and your ticket sales.  YOUR ticket sales will be counted through the USF ticket office.  YOU NEED to sell your allotment to show bowl representatives that you are willing to travel to see YOUR BULLS.  If you don't travel well to a game that is one hour away, then your credibility with bowl officials may suffer.  Not smack but it is a point which needs to be addressed.

  15. My opinion follows, and feel free to flame me for it.

I personally am not surprised that the ticket sales were slow.  UCF is not a game that most USF season ticket holders give a crap about. Those who are on this board care because we've had to wade through their filth and muck for years during their various inferiority phases.  But to the casual fan, this is NOT a rivalry game.  It's merely a road game against a lesser opponent.

That being said, I've purchased my tickets, and those who would like to see a 7th home game for the Bulls should as well.  But if we only bring 2500 to Orlando (but brought over 5K to Charlotte 1000 miles away), that's indicitive on the overall opinion of this particular opponent, not on the average USF fan's willingness to travel.

I thought you guys brought 3000 to Miami.  That's a great opponent.  What was the reason for that low attendance?

  16. Last season in the student section we had several drunk UCF students come in, first they were just annyoing but it quickly got to the point where they were either going to get beat or kicked out. Lucky for them the Cop kicked them out.

I expect the same thing to happen this season. The few UCF fans that are there in the 2nd half will be drunk and begin to start ****.

How close were the visiting student section and USF student section during last year's USF-UCF game?  If they actually were seated close together and kept it civil, then I stand corrected.

I don't think it will be a melee.  But too much sh!t talking is an unpleasant experience and at least one person will get fed up and make a run at it.
