  1. I just moved back down to Tampa from the DC area and really looked forward to being immersed in Tampa Bay sports talk radio. Bucs, Bulls, even Lightning and Rays. I have been very disappointed in the attitudes and knowledge of the sports hosts. I have repeatedly heard blatant untruths on the Bucs. For the most part, they don't seem to know too much about USF, but I have heard things repeated often regarding the Bucs ( Sapp, Brooks, and Lynch were drafted by Tony Dungy, for instance) that are mind blowing. All to bash Gruden, of course. I wasn't here during the Super Bowl year, but often wonder if they loved him then. People shouldn't get to choo :)se their facts. But, still, I keep listening...
  2. Yes, I saw him do a couple of good cuts running the ball during the full-team workout. Mel Kiper said he also had done some good things in terms of catching the ball out of the backfield, blocking, and special teams. He had him as a second day pick (Round 3-4). Yeah, seeing #38 was weird.
  3. Geez, they came within a 3 pointer of winning or tieing the game in the last few seconds. And Nova WAS #6 in the country. Sounds like they played pretty well against a good team. I can't believe Villanova would "lay down" and risk losing this game.
  4. Sometimes ADD kicks in at the worst time. They showed a lot of Deangelo Williams, but not much Andre. I'll be watching again tomorrow, but won't be able to catch it Thursday.
  5. I was looking for Andre, then towards the end got up and left the room. As I was coming back, I heard one of the announcers mention that he had made a good block in the running back blocking drills. Said that that would help him out given his size if teams see him blocking hard on the big guys. But I didn't see it, just heard it. Darn it.
  6. Agreed! Seeing so much talk of embarrassment was disappointing to me. I pulled the chair up to the TV and watched the game from start to finish. It was no big surprise that we had problems at QB, so I don't get the overreaction here. Face it - PJ is the best QB we have right now, for better or worse. That goal line stand by the defense by the defense was one for the ages! People, please take a chill pill. Losing 14-0 in a bowl game is NOT embarrassing. Disappointing, but neither embarrassing or unexpected, for that matter. Looks like the fans in the stands were having a good time!
  7. My wife and I went to the game yesterday. Seats were great (2nd row). I've never been that close to the action. Fortunately, both of our TDs were scored at our end of the field, so we got a good view of the money action. The PSU fans were very friendly. We were invited to a tailgate party on the way in to the stadium and had some nice conversations with the fans out in Lot 21. We had a very nice weekend up at State College and want to thank everybody at PSU who helped make it that way.
  8. My wife and I are going to be in town Friday evening, ready to rock and roll. Looking forward to a fun weekend! We're driving up from the DC area and staying at the Holiday Inn nearby. If there's a meeting place Friday night with some Bulls, we'll try to swing by.
  9. Jim, We're going to be at PSU for the game Sept. 3. What is included in the tailgate and do we need to pay in advance or can we show up with our moolah and get in?
  10. We got our tickets the other day. So, my wife and I are going to drive up Friday and spend Fri/Sat night up there. I'll be interested in the tailgating aspect of this trip, as well. We're really looking forward to spending the day up there. We got a room at the Holiday Inn at State College. MUCH cheaper than the Hilton Garden Inn, but she found it on the Penn State web site, so we may run into a lot of Penn Staters there. Should be fun anyway...
  11. My wife and i would like to go. We live in the DC area, so could fairly easily drive up and spend the night. Are the tickets available on the USF web site? We would just be looking for the tickets, not a total travel package.
  12. Well, it's official! I opened up the Washington Times this morning and saw Chuckie's smiling face on the front page of the sports section. He, along with Caron Butler, were traded to the Wizards for Kwame Brown. I really like the direction the Wizards have taken since Michael Jordan was sent packing. I think Grunfeld (Wizards GM) pulled off a hell of a trade!
