Small college QBs? I'm offended!
He wrote smaller programs (than UF, FSU, and Miami). I am offended that we are a smaller program than UF, FSU, or Miami. We should be right up there with UF and FSU, and ahead of the Canes. Hopefully very soon.

So after all those years you have finally decided to join the asylum. Welcome, and

Stay strong, Coach Leavitt. You are a true Bull!

I can't believe that it has been 20 yrs since we have started a football team, and that 55 also does come up rather quickly as I found out myself. I have to say that it is a strange feeling to know things will go on without you. I never met Mark, but my condolences to his loved ones.
BTW, anybody who is battling cardiovascular issues should check out the Pauling Therapy - paulingtherapy.com, vitamincfoundation.org, and hearttechnology.com are some good places to start.

Hey, Frost is just trying to drum up some excitement for the program after that dismal season. Can you imagine what things would have been like if their old coach was still running the program? Talk about a low number of season tickets sales.
I don't blame them for wanting to be faster, that need was clearly evident from the game we played last season. Like everything else the talk is easy. I have to give him credit for trying to change the culture over there.

I hope we can gain a few thousand season ticket sales this year, and then build even more for next year. Out of curiosity, I did a very quick search for season ticket numbers and found these for us. (2 links).
2010 - 23,464
2011 - 22,211
2012 - 21,639
2013 - 21,409
2014 - 14,788
2015 - 11,795
for something to compare with, I did a quick search for UCF's numbers, and found these on one link. I didn't search enough to find a 2015 number.
2012 - 13,016
2013 - 15,064
2014 - 16,049
I can't imagine anybody who followed USF games last year not renewing this year unless they moved away, or for personal reasons can't renew again. USF football is fun to watch again. We need to get over the 20K level again.
I also wasn't aware just how low the UCF season tickets sales are. I don't know if declining season ticket sales are a trend in college football even with teams doing well or not.

That article is from the same year this thread was started, 2012.
I have to ponder things for a while.

Here is an interesting article about FSU and the Big 12.
http://www2.ljworld.com/news/2012/may/14/coach-fsu-should-give-big-12-look/
That in and of itself should stop expansion in the Big 12 this year.

the latest I have seen is no expansion unless there is also a Big 12 network, and if one is created, then UConn is the lock, Unless...

Colorado State just released a 12 page promotional ad to sell them for conference expansion. I know our strategic plan report was not the same thing, but it's interesting to see (more than) a bit of marketing thrown in.

There was an article a few days ago that even had us left out of his theoretical 80 school P5.
We will change the national perception of insignificance this year.
Go Bulls!

It shows where the real power is - just after the school board of regents chairman said he was opposed to expansion, the school president straightens up and gets back in line.
I think the Big 12 may be waiting for the ACC network or lack of one to shake things up a bit.
If there ever was a year to run the table or even just win the conf, this is it for us.
Beat FSU and the rest of the AAC.

As far as I could see nobody ever said Fedex was going to come up with $500 million. Memphis claimed the school would invest $500 million in academics and athletics over the next five years. Didn't we just raise 1 Billion in the USF unstoppable campaign?
Fedex said they would sponsor Big12 football and basketball if Memphis was included, which is nice but I don't know if it would be hard for the Big12 to get other sponsors if Fedex wasn't involved. I doubt it.

That's my thought. Imagine our home slate this year with something like FSU, Oklahoma, WVU, and UCF coming to town. That's 3 sellouts and, depending on if UCF learns how to play football again, a potential 50,000+ for that game.
You don't even need sellouts. What do we get from the AAC payout, about 2 million per year? Divide that by 6 games (increase in season ticket sales would be for all games) and then add many more for one or two games. 2 Million divided by 6 is 333,333 per game, which at $40( actually this amount is probably on the low side) is only 8,333 tickets to make up the lost AAC revenue.

actually the added revenue from just extra ticket sales with a big12 schedule would probably give us more money than we get from the AAC annually.

As long as Texas can keep TCU and Texas Tech in the "no expansion now" camp, then it will not happen. They need 8 of 10 teams to vote for expansion.

The rich do truly get richer. Check out these apparel contract amounts. What we could do with that.
Michigan, UT, and Ohio State.
The (Michigan) agreement is valued at $173.8 million if it runs the entire 15 years, and includes a $12 million initial payment to the university, $76.8 million in total annual payments and $85 million in apparel. The new deal runs through 2027, with a university option to extend the agreement to 2031.
Four months after UM’s new deal was reported, news surfaced that Texas’ new contract with Nike would be worth $250 million over 15 years. In January of this year, Ohio State announced its new deal with Nike, an agreement that will pay that school upwards of $252 million over 15 years.

Maybe we should just create a virtual stadium for use with VR goggles for the game day experience without leaving home.
Make it 190,000 seats. No traffic jams, no land needed. Season tickets could be lower priced, and some of the rowdy people here could even get into virtual fights when they refuse to sit down. Maybe even a few of us would get plastered during the virtual tailgate, or make a virtual ass of ourselves with virtual rude behavior, or even cheer like they never would in a more traditional setting.
Hey, some may even pick up a virtual Sun Doll to join them in celebrating after the team's big victory on the field. Maybe USF will even win the conference and then the National championship.
There is no need to physically attend a noisy, sweaty event with a bunch of rabid, yelling people in various states of inebriation. Tomorrow's kids and their parents want ease and convenience, and safety is always of paramount concern.
We can make it happen!

On gameday you close Fowler, reroute traffic to Fletcher and Busch. Boom!
Nah, just move that section of Fowler south around the MOSI property and shift the campus to include the MOSI property.

In Texas it is about 5K per semester tuition and fees for state residents... unless you go to Baylor - about 19K per semester or SMU - about 24K per semester. Florida is still a bargain, but nothing like when I went there.

That was a great year and I still hate those calls in the Rutgers game. There is no telling what would have happened if we won that game.
The skunk in the BCS garden quote inspired Mutt to make the graphic that I stole for my identity on this board. I even bought some skunk hats that resembled a coonskin cap and wore one to the West Virginia game. I still have some lying around somewhere in storage.
It is true that most college teams have never been ranked number 2 or higher in their history. We were there for such a short time, but it was fun. I hope we can get there again but stay a while and maybe even move up a notch.
Opportunity is so rare that I hope this year's team doesn't ever mail in a performance. Each week is your only chance ever to win that game.
