  1. Also, if the rumors are correct that the 6-8 HCC Center will sign with USF this will give us an immediate replacement for Mattis.  Not quite the jumper of Mattis but a very similar game with much more size.

PLEASE tell me you meant jumper as in "leaping ability" and not "jump shot".......because, well, has Mattis EVER made a jump shot? Just one?

  2. He told a great story about one of the UF assistants who wanted USF to move the game to Legends Field to accomodate the Gators.  Lelo agreed to do it, but then after he thought about it he changed his mind.  Every time the Gator assistant calls him, he asks if everything is cool about playing at Legends.  Lelo humors him by saying, "yeah, I got the OK from George, its going to be a fun night out there!".  He hasn't let on that this game is at Red McEwen Feield.  Basically screw the Gators for thinking they have the power to move a USF home game to accomodate them.  I thought that was priceless.

    ;D ;D ;D

  3. I don't believe the game not being televised had anything to do with the lack of coverage.  This is not the first time a RMC upset over a TOP25 team did not awaken the media establishment.  Except for the beat writers, they're just like the guy that graduated in '95 and still hasn't been to a football game yet - still waiting on it to be THE THING to do.  Really, if you believe that the stations don't have cameras there (or can't have cameras there) or that USF can not provide highlight tape, you're mistaken.  It's a matter of wanting to report it; wamting to report what they believe the community wants.

IMHO, it's a much larger problem than having the game itself televised.

Part of the problem, this time, may have been the timimg of the game .... SB weekend. Any other weekend, with the nice advance sales for the game due to the Irish "name", there probably would have been more coverage, tv and print.

Still unacceptable. Did the timing ruin the Gator coverage on the same night?
