  1. Just ordered my pair of club level #7111. Had to try 3 diffrent on-line travel sites to book convenient flights out of Sarasota. Went with Cheap Tickets and got the 7 o'clock out of Charlotte after the game. Back at 9:22... just in time to celebrate New Year's with the Mrs. One overnighter, but ONE HELL OF A WEEKEND!
  2. Grew up there. That's why I now live in Sarasota. 'Nuff said.
  3. Just on a whim I checked cfn.com's bowl projections and to my surprise saw this... POINSETTIA BOWL - San Diego, California December 22, 2005 ESPN2 Qualcomm Stadium 70,000 MWC vs. At-large CFN Projection: Wyoming vs. South Florida also considered: TCU, New Mexico, Clemson, Maryland, NC State, Kansas, Kansas State, Northern Illinois, Bowling Green Never heard of this bowl, but hey, at least we're getting some ink.
  4. I thought that it was pretty cool too. My mom came with my wife and I to the game and couldn't stop talking about the pregame animation. She had a wonderful experience and loved watching the FAMU band. I think she wants to tag along for this week's game a as well. I do thinks halftime stats would be good as well as scores from around the conference and state. My wife kept going into the first aide office to check the score on the FSU game.
  5. My wife and I are expecting a little girl in February and I'm excited about taking her to football games. I want to put her in one of those little jumpers that are balck and white with a little hood with cow horns. When she's big enough, she gets the little cheerleaders' outfit. When my wife and I go next fall, I intend to hold her as I watch the game from the deck area of the south endzone. I won't even sit in my seats. I will gladly pay for a ticket when she occupies her own seat and gets up and cheers with the rest of the crowd. On a side note... I hope that Bulls fans have more class than to yell obscenities and throw things at what is, more or less, a family event. If you want to act like an infantile ass, then sit in the student section away from familes with young children. A college football game is not a license to act like an offensive drunk. I wouldn't want our games to be like that anyway. Just my 2 cents
  6. Excellent!  I buy almost all of my gear there.  Varied selection and great prices.  I hope they have some new styles.  I'll check it out this week! 8)
  7. This is a funny topic. My older brother swam for USF until 1988, just before they axed the program. I was recruited by them, as well, but there wasn't a swim team left by the time I got to Tampa in 1989. My brother loved it, so I'm glad it hasn't been forgotten.
  8. I guess we're destined to wear Beall Sports gear for the next ten years.
  9. We don't have gold uniforms so they wear the white. I'd love to see some gold uniforms in the future.
  10. I attended from '89 to '94. I did a turn at Beta Hall and the Village. Aside from BBall, there wasn't much to do until I turned 21. After that we spent a lot of time at the Coppertop Pub, the Greenery (I lived in the apts behind it, I think they were University Townhome Apts) the Irish Pub in Ybor, and A newer dive-bar called the House over across the tracks. I worked so many hours, took so many classes and interned at ther same time that all I remember is being in one of the above places. Honestly though, I had a great time in my later years. I one thing I regret was not going to a football school. But I live it vicariously now. If I had the choice, I'd do it all over again.
  11. I usually just lurk and rarely post, but I have to put my two cents in on this one. Ronnie, Javon and the rest of the boys, best of luck and thanks for giving me a sense of pride in my institution. You'll not soon be forgotten. Go Bulls!!
  12. 1. I was at a watch party and a female friend of my wife's asked me how many points the Bulls would get for an extra point. 2. Brown 3. Probably not 4. Coke, there is no substitute 5. Just across town
  13. 1. The replacements 2. Leak 3. Loo Key, Summer of 97 (Lobster Season) 4. Better Than Ezra - Jannus landing (All that Ive Seen - 4) 5. Why not? I've got time.
  14. Just caught this on the Ask CFN link. I like the sound of it except for the whole "average" thing. Which schools do you think have the biggest home field advantage in each conference? I know that Miami has a great home record but I think that is more to do with the players on the field than it does the fans, stadium or playing surface. What are your thoughts? - Steve-Redondo Beach, CA A: Trying to forget the won-loss record and the players-on-the-field factor (you're right, Miami would have home field dominance if it played on a junior high field on gravel in front of five fans), here's my unofficial toughest home-field environment for each league: My choices in some leagues are for climate and city as much as it is for fans and stadium. ACC ... Clemson - Death Valley has that name for a reason. It's as intimidating a place as any in America and a huge advantage when the Tigers have the momentum. Big East ... Syracuse - When the Dome gets rocking, it might be college football's loudest stadium. Teams hate playing inside on that turf. Big Ten ... Wisconsin - Only on reputation, not on results as the Badgers have been average at home over the last few years. Coaches always seem afraid of Camp Randall. Ohio State and Iowa could also take the honor. (Big Ten joke ... The Minneapolis Metrodome might be the league's best home field advantage for Iowa when it plays Minnesota.) Big XII ... Texas A&M - Everyone would probably say Nebraska, but Husker fans are loyal and passionate, they're generally a very respectful and very nice group of fans. That's not to say A&M die-hards are mean, but they're a bit louder while Kyle Field is one of the most physically imposing stadiums in college football. Conference USA ... South Florida - USF had one of the longest home winning streaks in the nation over the last few years despite fielding an average team. MAC ... UCF - Call this the home-field advantage that hasn't been used as a plus so far. Come November, those Ohio and Michigan based teams used to playing in the cold should, in theory, have problems with the heat and humidity of Orlando. Marshall has the scariest home-field environment. Mountain West ... UNLV - I know, BYU is probably the most intimidating place, but the heat and fun of Las Vegas makes it an easy place for teams to lose focus. Pac 10 ... Oregon - Autzen Stadium for opponents is the equivalent of playing basketball in a tiny high school gym. The fans are right on top of the players and they get very, very loud. SEC ... LSU - Save your e-mails, I know everyone in the SEC has a nasty home-field advantage. You could easily put Florida or Tennessee in the top spot, but the night time Death Valley crowd, after having all day to live it up, makes the difference. Sun Belt ... I honestly have no idea. I'll go with Idaho primarily because of the long road trip. WAC ... Hawaii - Possibly the best home-field advantage in college football. After the long plane ride and seeing the beaches and bikinis, football doesn't mean all that much to opposing teams.
