  1. Why root for a team after it wins the Super Bowl?  99.999% of the past 10 Super Bowl winners go down the toilet bowl in one or two years

You root for the team because you are a fan of the team whether they win the superbowl or go through an entire season without a single win. If you could care less about the team and only want to root for winners then just wait till the end of the year until the SB winner is determined and buy their highlight DVD and don't worry about it.

They got their short-term goal (Super Bowl), but they destroyed the long-term potential fo this team.

    this makes no sense  :-/

ummmmm, so are you saying then that we should have forgone the superbowl to continue to come close to it year after year? or are you saying that we forgo the superbowl now so we can continue to hope to win it in the future? I just don't get this, the goal is to win the SB always and that's what we did. I'll agree that parity is hurting the sport but not because of dynasties...yes dynasties are a thing of the past due to parity but to me the problem is more the complete lack of loyalty to a team or city by the players, its become all about the money instead of the game and it also makes it very difficult to truely like a player knowing they are here only for the check and if the money calls somewhere else then their gone.

Also, I think this move was a long term decision, keyshawn already said he would not play here next year so keeping him can't be anything BUT a short term decision. I just wish the NFL would take this approach across the board with these selfish players. The player is and should be there to help the team, the player gets paid to be utilized the way the coaches and/or owners and GMs feel he should be used. Instead these arogant players think everything should be about them and that the coaches should be thinking more about getting them the stats, the spotlight and fame. I love this move and have the utmost respect for the bucs having the balls to worry more about getting control of the team back then kissing up to one person for possible short term benefit of the last quarter of the season. Let the season go and put these a-holes in their place.

  2. nevermind, here is the announcement on espn

In the latest shocking development from a championship defense gone awry, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers have deactivated former All-Pro wide receiver Keyshawn Johnson for the rest of the season, ESPN.com's Len Pasquarelli reports Tuesday.

According to Pasquarelli, Tampa Bay likely will look to trade Johnson after the season, as it believes there are several teams that are interested in acquiring his services. The NFL's trade deadline for this season passed in October.

Although the team has not yet released an official reason for the move, Johnson had openly complained in recent weeks about not getting enough passes thrown his way and his on-again, off-again relationship with Buccaneers coach Jon Gruden is well documented.

An eight-year veteran and the No. 1 overall pick in the 1996 NFL draft, Johnson has 45 catches for 600 yards and three touchdowns this season -- his fourth in Tampa Bay after starting his career with the New York Jets. For his career, Johnson has 603 catches for 7,936 yards and 48 touchdowns.

    stunning!

  3. I'd look for the front office to start dumping high-salary players wherever they can...hopefully, McKay can work his salary-cap magic like he has in the past. This year's performance is about as clear an indicator as you can get for what direction they need to go next.

Listening to Rome and he said the Bucs have de-activated Keyshawn for the rest of the year to allow him to get out. I can't seem to find anything about this on espn or tbo, does anyone know anything about this?

  4. I just can't believe most of you guy's voted for Pitt over WVU. And, I thought I'd made friends over here.  LOL.

Morgantown will welcome you even more now!

    ;D

the WVU fans have been great! As far as who we wanted to win I think most of us are thinking only about what would make the new big east look best as far as the bcs is concerned instead of which particular team we prefer. We finally have a chance to be in the BCS we don't want to have it ripped out from under us  :)

  5. what a misguided a-hole.

He is playing like crap, yet he says it is "His crowd"  ****, maybe you should play like you are supposedly capable.  You've been aweful.  And now you open your fat mouth and make a fool of yourself.  Pipe down and let the good players at miami speak.  Payton/Vilma have been the hero's this year, not you!

What a jerk.  Football isn't war, war is war.  I think we should hold a special draft just for this loser and let him go right on the front lines.

did you see the college wrapup on espn where May told winslow to go to the library and pick up a book and learn what a "real" soldier is and said he is nothing but an athlete playing a game. He also said he should go to iraq and learn what a true war is and that he should shut up and just play the "game"

Can anyone think of a bigger piece of crap ever to play college football? I think this was hands down the most classless act i've ever seen in college ball.

  6. I AM a bucs fan and I was so discusted by the time that call occured that there was really no way it could have phased me. That was the worst final 4 minutes of defense I've ever seen.....Actually it would be the worst 4 minutes of defense the NFL has seen as well, what was that stat? no team has EVER IN THE HISTORY OF THE NFL lost when up 21 or more points with 4 or less minutes to play. I don't know how anyone who watched that game could be more upset over that call then how we were shredded by manning....just thinking about it makes me want to puke

  7. somehow I can't seem to get too upset at that penalty....bucs DESERVED to lose that game. Blowing a 21 point lead in under 4 minutes with the best D in football? C'mon! the refs should have never had to be in a position to make that call in the first place.........so.......wasn't that a great game saturday!  ;D
