  1. It has been a miserable, rainy, gloomy day in Normal, IL.  It's all heading south.  The streets here have puddles, therefore hydroplaning is a real threat.  I lost a great friend a few years ago on an Alabama highway, very similar to 231, when his car hydroplaned into an oncoming tanker truck.  Also, if you take 231, be sure to slow down to the speed limit in the smaller towns, especially Ozark, AL.  The local constables love pulling over outsiders.

Be safe y'all.  Don't want to lose any of our great Bulls fans.  I hope to see many of you at the Bullbackers pre-game hook up on Sat. morning.

  2. I said in the chatroom I would be good for $10....not that it'll ever need to leave my wallet.   ;)  Hummel said that the Boneheads, I mean Boneyarders  ;), do this sort of thing all the time.  I wonder where the offers were the previous three times we beat them?  Heck Boneheads could have endowed a scholarship if we stayed in CDOA and played them all the time.

  3. Flipper:

Take the I-10 to 231 route.  231 is a nice four lane highway.  Yes, the Gen. is right, you must slow down for the towns (especially Ozark, AL), but between towns it is a 65 mph highway.  When you get to Montgomery, you turn left on South Blvd. and it will take you straight out to I-65.  We take this route down from Illinois every year for the holidays.

I also recommend that those going this way from Tampa area consider taking the new Suncoast Parkway toll road to Brooksville and take 19 north to Monticello.  It chops off a big chunk of I-10.

  4. I think this is a great thing.  First, as everyone points out, it is likely that NFL scouts will tell Mike to stay until next year.  Second, this is a great recruiting tool on two fronts...our coaches can say to any stud CBs we might still be after, look we may have an opening this fall, and look this staff develops NFL caliber defensive backs.  Yep, I like it.  And if Mike goes through with the draft, I will root him on on draft day and in the NFL.  I have faith in Jerome Murphy and Tyller Roberts.
