Agree with trade down. Theres no cant miss prospect or Michael Vicks in this draft and San Diego does have a lot of holes to fill. Problem is since there is no cant miss prospect it will probably be hard for them to find someone willing to trade up.

not a bad choice. no one is really seperating themselves yet. i like cliffs edge or either one of pletchers horses (value plus or limehouse)

that he needs a backup a lot better than garrett. not a bad signing in my opinion

Milwaukee Brew('02 & '03) and John Henry('81 & '82)

And no letting up tonight. Up 5-2 in the third against Florida. They knocked Luongo, who they always seem to struggle against, out after two periods. Man, not to jinx them, but they are starting to look scary good.  The fact that if they do trade for Prospal, he would be relegated to the power play only shows you how strong they are on offense. And I guess Dingman wanted to prove they not just a finesse team, getting into two fights in the first six minutes of the third period.
15 straight without losing in regulation (12-0-1-2)

Wow, what and ending. The Devils really dominated most of this game, but the BOLTS come up big when it counts. Pulled the goalie, tied the game with 9 seconds left and then won it a few minutes into OT. Great game, especially in playoff type atmosphere. Just awesome. Tops in the East and currently tops in the NHL. ;D

Just for you KR, great article from ESPN

Still nothing confirmed for sure. Until I see charges brought up on any player or MLB announces who failed the test, Im assuming nothing.

Will this pave the way for Garner to come to the BUCS. We could see the Bucs sign both Garcia and Garner in the next few weeks. Should be interesting.

I have to agree with Smazza on this issue. Andro was legal (it might still be now?) when McGwire was using it. Do we dismiss all the HRs then also. And where do we draw the line. Creatine is a performance enhancer. Ephedra/Caffeine pills are performance enhancers, and according to some ML's, about 90% of ballplayers take these.
None of these help you hit a curveball.
I think the fact that players have a penchant to swing for the fences more now is the real culprit. Look at some of these players K totals. They're obscene. Players now dont care about striking out, and could care less if they hit .300. They're just worried about hitting HR's.

His offensive numbers arent good enough to put him there, but he is known as one of the best defensive second basebman ever, and also hit the most famous world series homer, if not the most famous overall (although bobby thompsons HR probably is).

Agree on Albert Belle. He signed a 5 year 65 million dollar contract but only played two seasons before his hip knocked him out of the game. He collected his salary those last 3 years despite not playing a game.

Ive read the same TripleB. Im not even sure if the Bolts need Prospal. They already have one of the most dangerous and exciting offenses in the NHL and filled their only real weakness when they acquired Sydor. Now if they are able to bring Vinny P back without giving up anyone of the current roster, then it wouldnt be bad.

They are straight rolling.  I believe they are something like 20-2-1-4 since the beginning of January.  Melrose was pimpin the BOLTS like crazy on NHL tonight after the game. They are the only team in the NHL with 5 20-goal scorers and have the likely MVP (Hart trophy winner I believe) in Martin St. Louis, who by the way became the first player since Gretzky to win back to back offensive player of the month awards.  There are even teams that are starting to copy the BOLTS stretch offense, which will be a welcome change from everyone copying the the Devils boring trap. ;D

I dont think the DRays pitching is that bad off either. Gonzalez and Zambrano are both underrated, Waechter could be a star in the making, and I think Damian Moss may be a huge pickup. I think there youngsters on the mound (Waechter, Standridge, Brazelton) will all be solid contributors this year. I dont think a third place finish is out of the question. The Jays have a pretty strong staff but lack offense outside of Vernon Wells and Delgado. The Orioles signed an overrated Javy Lopez and Sidney Ponson (if he was that good the Giants would have held on to him) and have a pitching staff not much better if not worse than the Rays.

No way, nothing will top the "Thats my ESPN highlight" commercials. Nor the commercials with Dennis Hopper a few years back (cant remember what they were for).

Since the Bolts have a legitimate chance of making it to the stanley cup, this trade doesnt bode well for a possible future foe. As if the Dead Wings and Avs havent hoarded enough stars already....
Wings get Lang (co- points leader in the NHL - tied with Martin St. Louiiiiiiiiiiiiiiis)

So far things in court are going the way of Mr. Bonds. I dont believe he took them, and these courts are going to help prove it one way or the other.

ARods 03 stats: .298, 124R, 47HR, 118RBI
Soriano 03 stats: .290, 114R, 38HR, 91 RBI
Yes, ARods numbers are better, but they arent they big of difference. I just dont see where the Yanks gained that much, nor fixed their original problem (pitching) by this trade.

Why is it that Derrick Brooks at 6'1" and 235 lbs isnt on steriods and is just a good athlete, while Bonds at 6'2" and 230 lbs is on steriods?
To even further that, why is it that any ballplayer that gets himself into peak physical condition is on steriods despite the fact that even the biggest baseball players would be nothing more than a smallish linebacker in football.

Isnt Wendall that nut job that chews licorice while he's pitching?
Considering the two have never played together, and I would assume never trained together, I find it hard to believe that he would know anything for sure.

I dont think a quarterback should go first, but believe one will go first.
Eli Manning

I dont believe Bonds was on them either. People like to point to his physical stature back when he was a Pirate versus now. Bonds left the Pirates back in the early 90's though (at about 190lb). You're talking about almost ten years for him to bulk up. He didnt just transform himself over night.
