Where does the Conference of Notre Dame (CoND) fit in your list? They're not really an independent, but a conference of one team.

UCF is not in our league, I will be happy when we sweep this 4 game series and are done with them.  Let them rot on the vine after that.
Not so fast. When the Notre Dame NBC contract ends and is not renewed-welcome to Big East football. With 9 football teams the Big East will be looking to expand to 10 teams and play a Championship game. Who is that 10th team? The lure of Orlando to add another Florida team will be irresistible. UCF jumps into the Big East..
You need 12 teams in a league to host a championship game.

Think:
2005 USF Announced Average Attendance: 38,865
2005 USF Actual Average Attendance: 27,904
Difference of 10,961 "missing" fans per game.
UCF/USF game in 2005 drew an actual crowd of 40,988. (Basically 13,000 ABOVE USF's actual crowd average).
You can ask Greg or your "own" TSA insider for more info if you would like.
That's all "I'll" give you....you figure out the rest..."if you really want to".
Question, why do you continually point out and report our "actual" attendance when EVERY OTHER school in the country uses the paid attendance to report.  Is it because it supports your agenda to bash USF?
I don't mention it first...the TSA reports actual figures to those in the Tampa Bay Media, and they report it.
For some reason, most USF fans don't know that fact.
Well you STILL haven't dug up the figures for the WVU game to prove what is appearing as your baseless accusations that the UCF game drew more than the WVU game. You are declaring it, so YOU have to prove it. Or are you just talk with nothing to back you up?

Greg's lastest blog is really mean and messed up.
I'll second that. Talk about a real tease.

Ohio State taking priority over USF? >
He works for the St. Pete Times, not USF. Get a grip.

Chill out, buddy, I was kidding around.
Then put another smiley on another line like this.
Then we know you are kidding. It's what smileys are for.
Kizarvexis
The smiley police?  Our fans have gotten so bad on this board that we have SMILEY POLICE?
I guess you didn't see the smiley on the original post...
Well if you don't put a then we might think you are serious. There are some rather exotic notions on this board among the Bulls fans and even worse problems with the knats. You wouldn't want us to think you were wacked like a knat fan, would you? ;)
Kizarvexis
BTW, do I get a snazzy badge for being the smiley police?

Look, YOU'RE making the accusations, so YOU provide the proof! Without proof, your statements are just so much gossip. Deal in facts and not innuendo and I'll believe you. ****, you went to college, did you pay attention or just party?!?

BTW, since you seem to have a reading comprehension problem, just ask and I'll use smaller words and spell it out for you if you need me to.

24-17 Cincy at the half. In the last 10 minutes of the 2nd Q, W. Michigan scored unanswered 17 points. Cincy better come out big in the final half or they could lose this game.

With 6:56 left in the 2rd Q it is now 24-7 Cincy.

Also, the actual crowd was the largest for any USF game at RJS (even larger than the "actual" crowd vs WVU...as the UCF game was the only one to ever have an ACTUAL crowd of over 40,000).
Once again, please provide a link to a reputable reference showing that the actual UCF attendance was greater than the actual WVU attendance. A link showing the actual 2005 attendance for all USF home games scores you extra credit.

WHICH IS MORE? The attendance at Saturday's USF-UCF game in Orlando was announced as 46,708, more than the 45,139 announced at last year's game in Tampa.
That's not to say more people were there this year.
Announced attendances typically illustrate the number of tickets distributed; the actual attendance at Saturday's game...
The closest thing to a comparable number from last year is an actual figure of 40,988, though that count has been padded by a few hundred as it also included the bands and cheerleaders.

TAMPA - The University of South Florida's first Big East win has been marred by post-game confrontations between security and fans involving at least one spectator whom police zapped with a Taser.
In front of 29,567 (announced crowd 33,586) people at Raymond James Stadium on Saturday, USF beat the No. 9 University of Louisville, 45-14, in USF's first victory against an opponent ranked by The Associated Press....
Reading comprehension KL.

The first sentence above is asking you to prove that the UCF attendance at USF was greater than the attendance of WVU at USF. That means you are comparing UCF vs WVU, not UCF vs Louisville.
For extra credit, show the actual attendance at all USF home games for 2005. This means the actual attendance figure for each game.

I don't see the majority of bowls surviving anything more than a 4 team playoff. So, why not go for a 32 team playoff? All eleven conference champs and 21 at large teams. Then all those 2nd and 3rd teams from the BCS confernences can get in and make the BCS conferences lots of money. The fans get to see the big name matchups too.
Kizarvexis

Let's compare some items.
RJS rent = $720,000 ($0.72M) per year
Projected OCS bond payments = $11,000,000 ($11M, note no decimals) per year
Which would you be more able to pay out of your pocket? And before you start the 'but we'll keep all the ticket money' lines, you need BnS (Butts-n-Seats).
Here are the USF home attendance records that I have. First will be announced, the second will be average (or ?? if I don't) and the third will be the NCAA affiliation.
1997 33,039 ?? I-AA
1998 27,143 ?? I-AA
1999 25,053 ?? I-AA
2000 26,414 ?? I-AA transition
2001 25,820 ?? I-A independent
2002 26,804 ?? I-A independent
2003 30,512 ?? I-A C-USA
2004 27,060 19,699 I-A C-USA
2005 38,865 36,379* I-A BE (*doesn't include Cin or WVU)
2006 30,222 24,776 I-A BE
That seems a real inconsistant record of BnS to base an OCS on.
A poster mentioned a comment of 'when will we get crazy fans like TN, PSU, Boise St.
UTenn was established in 1794 and has been playing football since 1891, for 109 years when you take out 6 scattered years of no team, mostly due to wars.
Penn St (My guess on PSU) was established in 1855 and has been playing football since 1881 for 120 years when you take out a 5 year break from 1882-1886.
Boise St was established in 1932 and has been playing football since 1968 for 38 straight years. Boise St moved to Div I-A in 1996 and the WAC in 2001.
USF was established in 1956 and has been playing football since 1997 for 10 straight years. USF moved to Div I-A in 2001, C-USA in 2003 and the BE 2005.
The closest comparison is Boise St and in thier 10th year, they moved from Div II to Div I-AA!
These things take time. USF's rise from nothing to the BCS BE in ten short years has been nothing but stupendous. USF's rise to the BCS has been like the lines in a movie script. But this is real life, so not everything will happen over night. One of the problems of the USF fanbase, is sometimes having unreasonable expectations. Like comparing the fan base of a ten year old program to schools that have been playing football for decades!
BTW, FWIW here is the breakdown for the BE.
Uni - Est - Ftb - Years playing
Rut - 1766 - 1869 - 137
Pitt - 1787 - 1890 - 117
UL - 1798 - 1912 - 88
Cin - 1819 - 1885 - 119
WVU - 1867 - 1891 - 114
Syr - 1870 - 1889 - 117
UConn - 1881 - 1896 - 108
USF - 1956 - 1997 - 10

Kiz...
Since the Big East does not have a championship, they can and will use December 1st for games (they had games on Dec 2nd this year)...
Now, USF might need to keep this date open as a hurricane date -- so I am not sure if it should be added to your list.
I have that date listed in my spreadsheet, but I didn't list it because I also thought it might be used as a hurricane make-up date. (FWIW, my future schedule list goes to 2016)

I thought that since the Bucs beat Cleveland, the Browns get the 3rd pick
The draft is based on Strength of Schedule. If two teams are tied for SoS, then the Division or Conference tie breaker procedures are used if applicable. If two teams are still tied, then a coin flip is used. Since the Browns and Bucs are in different conferences, then the next applicable tie breaker was a coin flip. I believe the coin flips are done at the NFL Combine, but I may be wrong.

USF needs to do a better job talking more about an OCS.  I understand that it may not be feasible or financially responsible right now, but that doesn't mean we can't bluff.  Pitt seems to have a good relationship with the Steelers, I wouldn't mind sharing the stadium for a long time to come, but the current set up seems very one-sided.  If USF starts talking seriously like they may build on OCS, perhaps even courting some of Ray Jay's other clients (Monster Truck, Bike Racing, etc), I would bet we could come to a more fair deal.
Pitt and the Steelers have a longer relationship than the Bucs and Bulls. Also, they both have similar, if not the same, colors.
