Worried at this time that coach Rahim believes he can built a team with A Sun talent and win in the AAC. A Sun is really akin to FCS football.

Gregory was able to recruit Harris. We need 2 or 3 of Harris type players and we can be competitive right away.

Well we did lose to ASUN teams last year. So let’s not act like all their talent is bad. We haven’t been world beaters with the talent we had.

So let the man get who wants to come here and let’s see how it plays out before we act like we are too good for ASUN talent

Really don't care about our history. Our history is now in the past and its due time for us to become a major program. There is nothing that precludes us from doing so.

If FAU can get to the final four, North Texas can win the NIT, and UCF and Tulane can win New Year bowl games there is no reason we can't as well.

It starts with recruiting! If Golesh and Rahim can't recruit then we will be mediocre at best. Maybe we don't have to out recruit Memphis but we should be able to out recruit teams like ECU, Tulane,...

For a basketball coach to be successful at USF, he must find players that will develop and be able to develop them. He basically needs to be able to repeat what he did at KSU. We aren’t getting the ranked kids and we won’t turn it around overnight

Basketball I think is much easier then football. First of all for basketball we have great facilities. Second; all you need is 2 or 3 good players instead filling 22 spots plus special teams in football.

Getting top tier A Sun players is good to fill up the roster depth wise, but at some point he is going to have to get some rabbits out of his head, and get some top tier national talent like Gregory did with Harris.  If he is not able to recruit the type of players that Memphis, SMU, Wichita State,... are recruiting I am afraid that it will be another long season. So far recruiting is not good enough for us to finish in the top 7 of the AAC next year.

Getting Tchewa back would be huge. He got better every year, and could easily get us 13 points 9 rebounds a game next year

You think that we can recruit same type of players Memphis does? Man you are going to be disappointed. Our history says otherwise.

Now 17-27, 6-8 in the AAC and headed toward the bottom of the standings. But have faith. It’s all good. Pitching has only given up 45 runs in the past four games. They’ll get it right soon.

If we win tomorrow we can be #6 in an 8 team league. So let’s go get it.

He may get a few minutes playing defense because of his size, but otherwise he won’t get off the bench at UVA. They can have him. His game right now is very limited. Tobiloba is basically the same kid at this point. It’ll all be about development with both.

Agree. He will probably be in TF in a year or two. Absolutely agree if we are going anywhere with the new Coach, he will have to develop players and if he wins we can then attract higher rated kids. But right now our basketball program is a big 💩

This is where we are - third-team all conference PG in the A-SUN.  🙂

His PG at Kennesaw was second team, but I guess he wants to stay at Kennesaw instead of joining our mess.

UNF played a handful of “name” programs last year - Gonzaga, Houston, Washington, Kentucky, Pitt. In those games, Placer shot 4-24 from three. Sounds more like our kind of guy.

Don’t think this guy is coming to start, but we will see. I mean this guy basically is building from scratch and needs starters and bench, and not like he has much to sell at USF other than sunshine and playing time. Our record as a basketball program is pretty dismal. If this guy is to work out here, he is going to have to start from zero.

  7. I can see us adding one more WR from portal

    Right now incoming:

    Transfers

Mike Brown Stephens from Minnesota 5’11, 195 49 catches 770 yds 2 TDs

Seth Jones from Baylor 6’0 180  7 catches 73 yds

    Naiem Simmons from Wagner 5’10 175  72 catches 1067 yds 7 TDs

    Freshmen

    Keshawn Singleton 6’3 190

    Tyree Kelly 6’3 195

Sounds like the reality is, for the most part, don’t try and take too much out of it ……. unless you’re just trying to find sometimes else to complain about …. which, in some cases, finding something else could be a good thing.

Nah, I’m not complaining, I’m just showing facts. What people do with it, is their business

A lot of players that we are getting through the transfer portal are really hard to rate due to a lack of playing time.  I will always prefer a player who put up decent numbers at a group of five team over a third stringer at a power 5 school.

Certainly if you can recruit a starter or contributor from a Power 5 team even better like we did with Bohanon. I like the RB we recruited from Florida and the WR from Minnesota.

Agree, but here is the reality. None of USF’s incoming transfers have been re-rated. Yet TE Jackson Long that transferred from USF to GT has been re-rated as .8500, now you tell me what college stats they used in that re-rating?

Colorado is ranked 1st with their transfer class and we are ranked 93. I am not sure how the hell these scores work or what they mean because we got 17 transfers and 0 for a score. I think it means 247 just doesn't care enough to rate USF. Either way we can't claim we got the number one transfer class just for a day.

Here is the reality of Transfer scores. A player transferring into a P school gets re-rated and that score is used in rankings. A player going to a nonP school doesn’t get rated as fast. As of now none of our players coming in have been rated

USF and Colorado both were 1-11, so it will be interesting to see how both do this upcoming year. We will have a a straight forward Golesh vs Sanders comparison. It makes sense when you are 1-11 the prior year to make  a lot of changes.

Golesh is lucky to have a weak schedule to ease himself into the HC role. With the schedule we have we should expect a minimum of 4 wins.

With all the coming and going of players its hard to assess how Golesh is doing recruiting wise so far. I guess we will find out soon enough when the new season starts. Either way there will be enough talent on this team to beat teams like Charlotte and  Rice.

No doubt both had to make changes, but what is happening at Colorado hasn’t been seeing before. So far 52 transfers, decommit from major recruit, transfers of guys that transferred in with him, plus the video situation. It just seems chaotic. Match that to a tough schedule and there will be questions. If he doesn’t beat Nebraska or Colorado St early in season, there will be rumblings.

If nothing else, we will all be watching.
