  1. The tragic part of this, is that the players who have heart, are still leaving it all out on the field to no thanks, no support, and are even getting hurt for no good reason.   It's disheartening to see how many of our players have joined the walking wounded this year.  It seems that most of our best players and 1st string players have gotten hurt and missed time at some point of the season.

Even listening to Bulls Unlimited, it seems that our announcers have even down shifted their excitement and enthusiasm.  I think all associated with USF needs to be on Suicide Watch.  Good thing this is only a game.

  2. I'm not into schmaltzy stuff, but I wanted to thank all the fans that came yesterday to FAU Stadium and even though we lost (got embarrassed) still had some fun.  I met some new people at the tailgate who were kind enough to invite me in, and so I sat with them.  I know one of them is a member of this board, but don't know his screen-name.  We were both analyzing the game as it was happening, questioning CJS and the play calling, and making our opinions known.  We sat on the second level, and like I said, even though the result wasn't what we wanted, I still managed to enjoy my day with he and his crew.

I think the most enjoyable part of this game for me, was the cool breeze, meeting new people, and seeing Horn Jr. explode for 178 yards.

  3. Does anyone want to meet at game?  If so, when and where? Either DM me or post here.  I figure on getting to the stadium at about 1:15ish.  I'll also be wearing my USFBullsPen (Bullumni) collared shirt I purchased years ago when we came down and played in Lockhart Stadium.

  4. Last night was pretty harrowing even in Ft. Lauderdale.  I am about 10-15 miles South from where the game will be played Saturday.   We lost power for 6 hours, but it was restored by this morning.  I did a few perimeter checks at my house, and found no real damage, but experienced lots of rain and wind throughout the night and morning.

I'm pretty sure the damage in our area is minimal compared to what a near direct hit or hard glancing blow that Tampa will be getting.

  5. I'm not sure why many of you think that the game move was called early.  I think its obvious that the people in charge and who have to make each game happen have made the correct decision to move the game.

What some/most people probably don't realize is that it takes more than just 1 day to prepare for any game to happen at any stadium at any given time.  Usually it takes at least a week, to get the following ready:

    Food and staff for concessions
    Staff for security
    Staff for operating the stadium
Staff for all the electronics and Media
    Staff for the police/fire rescue/medical

Then you have all those people who are working the games, have to also assess their OWN situations at home.  These are local people who have probably sustained some damage to their own homes.

They are not robots.  They might have even evacuated as they were told to do, and don't know what they are coming home to on Thursday or Friday.

If you can imagine the weather going as predicted and the storm would have hit the Tampa area on Wednesday/Thursday, it would probably be late Thursday/Friday until any damage assessments are done, and then immediate crucial repairs will take between 2 and 5 more days.  So either would would cancel the games outright, or move them to a safer location far enough to be not as affected from the storm, but close enough to allow the home team to still consider it a home game.

I am not saying that anyone is at fault here, but you must REALLY consider that the people who are in charge of these things, know what they are doing a little better than you do.
