(May 19, 2005) – USF softball player Tiffany Stewart was named to the Louisville Slugger/NFCA Division I All-Southeast Region First Team as announced by the National Fastpitch Coaches Association today. Stewart, the team’s leader in batting average (.382), is USF’s lone Louisville Slugger/NFCA honoree. The Odessa, Fla., native hit .382 with seven home runs and 34 RBI in 2005. A two-time C-USA Hitter of the Week this past season, Stewart leads USF with a .493 on-base percentage and a .590 slugging percentage, recording 10 doubles and three triples. Her .382 batting average ranks eighth best during a single season at USF. The USF junior, who was chosen for this honor by NFCA member coaches from each region, will now be eligible for selection to the Louisville Slugger/NFCA All-America first, second or third team that will be announced on ESPN during the Women’s College World Series.
