...USF admin is telling us that we won't need more than 35,000 seats? We have announced crowds larger than this at times at Raymond James, far from campus and while sucking. What happens if we are actually sustainably good and have the run of a lifetime...every game will be sold out and we'll be keeping potential new fans out of the stadium. I certainly don't think we need to bloat the stadium with 50k+ right now because it'll definitely look half-full for some time, but the options we are left with are to force an immediate second construction project for expansion OR not have enough seats for the growing fan base... My take is that the original build needs to be around 42,000 with expansion possible to 55,000.

This is the part where I remind everyone that announced crowds, especially in larger capacity stadiums, are utter BS and should be given no credibility. The proposed stadium capacity of the OCS is the ultimate lie detector.

I tried to find their record in these games, but could not.  Not marked on their schedules either.  I hope it makes Dilfer extra emotionally erratic.  I like it!

I heard on a podcast yesterday 6-1 or 5-1. About to be X-2 though. Unfortunately for them, they selected the wrong team this year.

When they can predict the weather accurately 2-5 days out, then I'll trust them to predict whether a certain county vs. another will experience 72 vs 74 days of 100+ real feel temperatures 30 years from now. I'm certain reports from 30 years ago said parts of coastal Florida would be underwater by 2023 yet there have been no changes in water level. It was "The Next Ice Age" in the 1970s and now it's "Extreme Heat". They weren't correct back then but I'm sure this time is Different. It's just a matter of kicking the can down the road and collecting the research money along the way.

The fact that millions of people are apparently incapable of coming to this common sense conclusion for themselves is astounding.

  4. Not at the game but this shouldn’t be a surprise. USF doomers once again predicting the unpredictable: barely anyone cares about playing a team called Rice or UAB or UNT or UNCC or the other scrubs in this conference.

The most immediate problem is that for USF to make a legit case to not play these teams, we have to not only win but dominate these games.

Honestly, after all the hemming and hawing about renderings, I would find it hilariously entertaining if they finally put out the renderings and the stadium looks exactly like that

I watched a YouTube commentator covering the various stadium proposals at the Florida schools. When he got to USF he showed that picture and commented, thinking it was the design. 🙄

It is a possibility that we go right back, but it's another possibility that this team is better than last year.

That's what's oddly compelling about the Rice game.

Yeah I do think this team is better. I was referring to attendance being back to business as usual. There will be a low ceiling on enthusiasm for AAC wins.
With that said, I was pleasantly surprised with how our OOC schedule looks in the next few years.

  7. Absolutely an awesome game experience and definitely helped the USF cause BUT let’s be realistic, that game and environment was because of who we were playing. Until we play known and respected opponents weekly, any carryover will likely be short lived IMO.

Also, to no one’s surprise, I don’t buy the attendance figure/sellout claims. Best turnout in may be a decade, but that third level wasn’t close to being filled. Even rows around us in 108 had plenty of open seats, and that was with no one checking tickets.

There are victories beyond moral victories? That being said he is dead wrong, todays loss is better than last weeks nail biter victory, competition matters and that’s why they is no such thing as an aac victory (to play the games is to have lost). I regret having not gone to the game today and there is absolutely nothing that can happen against an aac team that would make me feel that way.

I hear ya. I regret not going to last years Gators game. Tonight, despite the outcome, was very memorable. It should be a reminder to everyone that the ONLY goal is to get a seat at the “haves” table by any means necessary.
