I found the NSD interview very interesting.  Not the typical coach speak.  I did find the "borderline criminal" and "negligence" comments interesting, though not surprising.  The 14 scholarship safeties comment I found shocking.  How could that happen?  I will say that I love the words that are coming out of CAG's mouth - of course none of that matters if it doesn't translate to W's.

That falls on who hired him. If they didn’t ask the right questions to understand total understanding of coaching thoughts and strategies they failed. Which is exactly what happened.

This is great! It shows current players or recruits that you don't have to play at a power 5 team in order to make it to the NFL.

If anything for most players its better to start for a team like USF, then be a back up at a power 5 team, in order to gain exposure.

it will be interesting to see  whether players that transferred ( Horn, Battie, Weaver) away from USF if they have the same impact for the new teams. If they don't perform at their new teams their NFL stock could actually go down with the move.

To add to this, Wilcox’s combine was very interesting. They don’t have to be perfect here or immediately after. Let’s go Bulls!

I interpreted it as a place to track Bulls that were entering the portal not to track where they landed and what sporting events they were going to once they landed there.  Once they entered the portal they were not longer Bulls in my book and definitely not once they announced they were signing somewhere else .... but to each their own

I hear you and understand what you are saying. For the sake of college footballs new landscape, I’m interested in their exit and how they are being treated. Valuable insights for USF football if you ask me. We either pay attention and change or continue to stay in the depths of college football.

Count me among them. If we become irrelevant in collegiate sports because of this, so be it. I’ll sleep fine at night. My donor dollars will continue to go to the academic side of the university - not to pay some 18-year-old to play football who could care less about earning a meaningful degree.

With all the transferring are they even getting degrees? I wonder what percentage of college athletes and football players graduate.

Not always . . . and most successful coaches were not stellar players.

Of course not always. Our problem, is we need some draw for better and athletes. We are USF, the bottom dweller of college football. Can’t keep doing what we did yesterday. If we want to improve it’s time for administration to learn. This is a new day and age of college football.

Those are great questions. Wish I had answers. Talking to CAG he seems to think a stadium is of the utmost importance. But then you see guys transferring supposedly for more NIL money and you have to wonder. Maybe they are transferring for the chance to win more games and it isn't the money. Just so many changes to the landscape of college athletics.

Brians dad said he didn’t receive NIL!! Maybe the Fowler ave collective needs to figure their **** out.

Saved me the trouble of typing something similar. Like we're always behind and chasing. IPF? Got it now but way too late. OCS? Let's assume 2026 but way too late and, with NIL and portal, may not mean squat although our new head coach, and many others, is convinced it is needed.

If we had strong NIL, I bet we could sell them on playing in a NFL stadium. Another problem we have is our conference.

It's easy for them to say NIL/money wasn't first on the list when they're being offered a lot by everybody. If I'm being recruited to Bama, Georgia, Oklahoma, Texas, USC, etc., and the range of NIL money is anywhere from $850K to $2 million, I'm going to be doing fine financially at any one of those places. That leaves a lot of leeway to decide where you think you'd fit in more culturally and who would do the best job developing your talent for the next level (where the potential generational wealth lies).

I also think, even speaking anonymously, the kids are probably cognizant of what it would look like if they just outright said "Hell yeah, money was at the top of the list for me!"

If these kids are smart they would invest their money and set themselves up for a fruitful retirement. I wonder if any of these kids are being preyed upon like NFL and basketball players.
