His Offense wasn't horrible. Now the D was just bad.

I shouldn’t be so harsh because we were late to the coaching search game. New coach should make sure to surround himself with good/decent coaches. We were flat out bad and it started at the top (HC).

    Let’s go Jimmy and Xavier!

Does the College of Education have any wealthy benefactors?  Are there any famous graduates with deep pockets?   Education is an honorable profession, but it does not always lead to wealth.

Dave Ramsey and his survey of millionaires would say otherwise.

Edit - Agree with does not always lead to wealth. No profession always leads to wealth. That comes down to the individual and how they choose to live.  From the lowest of incomes to the “wealthy” incomes, people live a life full of debt and tend to live pay check to pay check. It’s the American way.

Gee, Twitterverse is almost as sensitive little princesses as bulls fans 🤣

How did you guys do against the mighty Hilltoppers yesterday? This new coach going to work out for you? LOL

It’s says something for you to come to this message board and create an account with that name justifying that post. To all the UCF fans out there who can’t own up to their mistakes, **** off.

    That would be you.

I was at the game yesterday watching a team I love. Someone referenced Colorado winning and I started thinking through how different that game, the number of fans, the preseason and our likely next 3 years would be if that dream sequence had come true. Many seem to hate him, but Colorado won 1 game last year. They may only win 1 this year, but the feeling is so different. Hiring the right coach changes everything.

S&C where you at? I’m sure temps probably played a part too. They need to make sure the players are hydrated and fit for action

Probably should be outside in the Florida heat and humidity. **** that practice facility for making us weak. (This is a joke and I know people here will rage with this comment.)

  6. Coaching!

They had the skills to play here, probably just didn’t fit them well with the environment they were surrounded in. Our culture at that time was probably a joke. The way we played games the last few years has been a joke. Some of our transfer players will shine because they have something to prove. They want more than what we offered.

Good luck to all those young men who want more and are playing their asses off.

I often wonder what would have happened if Chuckles had put in the effort and we pulled the perfect season in 2017, including a conference championship and BCS bowl win

Maybe Nebraska takes Charlie as opposed to Frost (Charlie would have been a hot target) and we get Heupel?

Chances are that with a better finish in 2017, we miss CJS altogether

I’m in agreement with you. He wasn’t looking to stay at USF. I wish he would have been plucked away and we could have continued having winning seasons leading into a OCS.

scott was awful. not going to argue otherwise but the only difference between scott and strong was that scott wasn't left with a loaded roster.

Scott has players who could play at other schools. He couldn’t coach and utilize those assets. Have you seen where our transfers went? Charlie just didn’t GAF till it was too late. I unfortunately watched him many games and yelled at him for not caring. Scott by far was the worst, how caring led to the crappiest play we’ve seen at USF.

He had 10 wins in his first season, 7 his 2nd, and 4 in his last. His total record at USF is 21-18 which is a winning record. CJS had 4 wins total and maybe 2 FBS wins. It's not even close. CCS may not have cared, but he was still able to pull some victories while not caring. CJS was just incompetent and made bad personal and player decisions.

100%! CJS couldn’t pull at win out of his ass when the other team was handing him it. He was a glorified hype boy and that was it. Best hype man for USF, until CAG came. You may find this in my past, but we should have demoted him just for his hype skills and fooling the fans. Let’s pray we never see worst than CJS.

Scott also had a larger budget for hiring coaches around him. Screw this nonsense.

I agree, Skip is not even close to the worst coach in our history. Strong and Scott can battle it out there.

That being said, USFs all time football winning percentage is .521.

Holtz is .557 in college. That's about 1/2 of a game better every year.

    Not exactly world beater numbers.

Holtz was the "safe" hire. Good guy. He was the anti-Leavitt in personality.

Nothing real impressive about his resume though with the exception of the usfl which is a completely different beast.

Recruiting is what hurt him here. The administration may have had an effect on that though.

Scott is by far the leader of worst coach. May even go down as all time worst coaches in college football.

And so, we have landed at Stage Seven: acceptance.

I have asked the question, so what if USF is a mid-major program, in perpetuity? Really, what is so bad about truly competing to the absolute best of our ability (and talent and resource availability) if we live on a world firmly and clearly divided between the haves and have-nots? What if, by not starting a program until the late twentieth century, we are truly and irreparably late to the party? Can we live with that (not saying the choice is solely under our control, but...)? Why not just stay in our weight class and dominate that?

Think about all of the non-P schools out there. And I'd be willing to bet that when the next Level Seven hits the realignment Richter scale, that number grows. The P-boyz could very well install a system whereby if certain metrics are not met, pack your bags 'cause the bus is leaving for Mid Majorville. Could happen. We're talking about the distribution of millions of dollars. And we all know how those stories end when the robbers get back to the rendezvous.

I know, I know, this is all in fun about whipping together some fantasy conference that we'd all like to see come to fruition and one day get all amped up about the annual U of SF - Ohio State game. And I also know that the whole point of rumors and tweets is to entertain, otherwise the thread would be called Realignment Facts Released Through Athletic Departments Only. We'd never get to the rarified air of a 4K page thread.

I would be paperclip-in-the-electrical-outlet shocked to see U of SF depart the AAC anytime soon. Just not anchoring to that idea. Now, maybe after a period of being at the top of the conference and really, really distinguishing us from the rest of the Non-P universe, then we might have some appeal.  I just don't see us dumb lucking (à la Big East) into P-dom. That's just my opinion and it's worth every single, solitary cent you paid for it. 😎

I use to ride my bike around the UCF campus in my cycling kit. I “owned” that campus for years. So much fun.
