Can't say I've ever interacted with him. But he has good info. All I know about his personality was that he seemed pretty happy to let some neo-nazis have their run of the board a few weeks ago.

Only the trolls come now. But the UCF fans I've seen on other boards are pretty respectful, if a little defensive.

I get how we got there. Brandon does a great job with insider info and has no motivation to create a healthy free board that keeps people from the pay board. But then interactions get insane, which is gas on the fire that is our super defensive and frequently immature fan base, which needs healthy interactions with other fans.

Puc! I am a big fan of yours. Honestly, you're a big part of the reason I lurk on this board. Watching you be the canary in the coal mine over the years and be completely dismissed by the other fans over the years is easily the most interesting part of this board. And we don't feel like kindred spirits with you anymore. We did. When I was reading you sounding the alarm on certain topics (like the OCS, not being rivals), it was interesting because we knew you were right and they were wrong but they had no intention of listening. But we were watching UCF make program-building moves for years. And watched USF make program-destroying moves for years. Things can always reverse, but I don't think the average USF fan has realized how far behind y'all are. We're not looking for your approval, but it's fascinating to see people begin to realize you were right or just leave the board.

I get the point you're trying to make, but UCF fans definitely wish they had a better board more than USF fans. Y'all get invaded occasionally on a pretty strictly modded board. That's nothing compared to the garbage we put up with.

I like to stop and read this board from time to time. I have given USF fans advice over the years (OCS, Strong will be a disaster, etc) that is always ignored because it comes from 'the enemy'. I like to check in and watch those positions evolve because I find it interesting and it gives me a good idea of where the UCF program is at because I've watched similar evolutions at other rivals schools. I was reading this thread and the post I initially commented on and saw that there has been a consistent thought on this board that UCF fans only come to the board because we're insecure. My experience is that UCF fans visit lots of boards and USF fans visit UCFboards when the program looks good, so I thought I would provide an alternative hypothesis for you to consider. Here's another one: is it possible that you insist on the insecurity of UCF fans because you're projecting?

I'm happy to give you another potential perspective on the topic. Some of us just like shooting the **** with rival fans, especially ones that have such different ideas of how to succeed.

I'm not sure what I need to prove about anything. I do like talking college football with fans of other schools, though. USF fans seem to believe fervently in a different philosophy than UCF fans. There's room for non-trolling debate, isn't there? And it's not like y'all want to come to the wild west UCF rivals board.

Actually, I've lurked on this site on-and-off for years, but I've seen the scheduling philosophy become such a hot topic and I wanted the ability to weigh in if I wanted to. Btw, I'm jealous of this board. I wish UCF had something similar. Maybe. We're definitely the most defensive outside of the SEC.

I'm not here to troll, but I would like to respond to UCF-related stuff (in a reasonable tone) when appropriate. I debated about making the username Timothy or something to not trigger the locals, but atsKnight is kind of my handle now. Hi, atsknight, long-time lurker here, first time poster. I love coming on this site because one of the best things about being a UCF fan is bypassing rivals. They start off ahead of you, then they have trouble accepting that you're equals, and then the best part comes. When they're in the rearview mirror, they're mostly in denial, but that's the most fun time to interact with them. There is a lot of chatter nationally about UCF. I try to read as much as I can. But there is something really affirming about checking in on an old benchmark to see how your school has progressed versus theirs.
