I was told they will be policing any tailgating on campus which means they do not want any tents, grills, or groups together.  I think just a few people sitting behind your car drinking without any type of real set up should be fine, but then that's not much fun as a tailgate!

    GO BULLS!

If so, so be it... Will find some place just off campus then. Will all work out. Just excited for the first tailgate of the year 'COVID' style... Sanitizer wipes for everyone! GO BULLS!

Yep, hotel is just off campus so if we tailgate there we will be fine unless the hotel doesn't like it. I'm sure there is a public park or something similar nearby too.

Here is the link to Single Game tix at FAU for those wondering. They will refund if you purchase through here and it gets cancelled. We have a group of about 14 in 233 right now... Right @TheAccountant? Feel free to join. Go Bulls! Tailgate location TBD

Yessir! Tailgating is not allowed at the stadium, so I plan to set up shop in the hotel parking lot and then ubering/walking to the stadium around 5. If anyone wants to join us just send me a message!

I just bought my tickets via phone for the FAU game, section 116. JJ - 117 already sold out. Tailgating isn't allowed.... But..... Anyone wanna meet up socially distantly at a Boca bar or restaurant in advance?

What website did you use? They still are showing "On sale time and date are in the works, please check back" on ticketmaster. When I try to go to FAU's ticketing system, the website times out.

Also, assuming I am able to get tickets, my group plans to tailgate in the parking lot of the hotel (30 minute walk to the stadium, 6 minute drive) and then either walking or ubering to the game. I am waiting to book my hotel to make sure I get tickets first, because the hotel doesn't offer cancellation without a fee. Once I have tickets locked down I will send you a message letting you know more details.

  4. Another improvement I think we should talk about, was penalties. Granted, there is definitely a lot of room for improvement, but we had 5 penalties for 50 yards. Last season we averaged 8-9 penalties for 71 yards per game. 20 yards may not seem like a lot, but that's 4 offside penalties or 4 false start penalties or a mixture of the two that could be game changing penalties.

I didn't see anything on offense last week unless this is part of some master diabolical scheme.

I am actually rewatching the game now because I was kind of drunk and had like 20 people over keeping me distracted. But from what I did see Saturday, our best chance of keeping this game close is our defense. Our offense just isn't going to be a 35 point per game group, which is where we will need to be if our defense plays like last years'.

Another thought would be that with the addition of Cade Fortin, possibly our passing game comes more alive.

  6. I realize this is a somewhat different team, with a different coaching staff. But after what happened against Wisconsin last year, I will be expecting us to get blown out unless our Bulls pleasantly surprise me and keep it competitive. Saves my liver from a lot of damage that would be done if I went into this week expecting a good game 😂

  7. So what are everyone's plans for the USF vs. Citadel game Saturday? Are you watching at home? At a friends? At a bar?

I would like to find a park / parking lot in the Tampa area that doesn't close at dusk and has wifi available so me and some of my friends can tailgate/watch the game (while remaining socially distant of course). Anyone know of any parks or parking lots near the stadium that would work?

  8. Didn't read all 6 pages, but I will give my two cents. I cut the cord back in 2017 and haven't looked back. I started with Sling TV, but switched to FUBO TV when Sling lost fox sports sun. Around a year later FUBO also lost fox sports sun so now I use Philo TV. Philo does not have a ton of channels, or a lot of sports channels, but it is only $20 a month so I deal with it. In the past 3+ years, I have used Hulu live, playstation vue (no longer offered), direct TV now (now called ATT Now TV), Spectrum stream, youtube live, Vidgo, Sling and fubo.

In my opinion, the best streaming service for sports is Hulu Live. It will run you $54.99, which is still way cheaper than the $100+ after taxes that cable runs, and you shouldn't ever have an issue watching a USF football, USF Basketball, Lightning hockey, Rays Baseball, Bucs Football, NFL, NHL, NBA, MLB, college basketball, or college football game.

I would suggest trying multiple services (most of them offer 3 to 7 day trials), then deciding which one you like the best. If you need help setting anything up, I don't mind swinging by one day before football season starts to help depending on where you live.

You will be receiving an e-mail this morning (hopefully around 10am) that will explain the options for the upcoming season.

Since we are ONLY having 4 games with fans this season we are providing the following options; 1) Defer all money from the 2020 season tickets to 2021. 2021 will have 6 home games, the same number that we were supposed to have this season, so deferring the money to 2021 will already have any season ticket member renewed, 2) Donate your 2020 season ticket purchase to the Bulls Club Annual Fund and receive double the priority points on the total amount donated, or 3) refund your 2020 season ticket purchase.

Since we have to re-seat everyone, once we receive the seats that will be available to us, season ticket members, based on Bulls Club level priority, will have the opportunity to purchase tickets to any of the 4 games at a discounted price. The process will begin on September 8 and season ticket members will receive an e-mail as to when they will be able to access tickets for the 4 games.

If you have any questions, then please feel free to let me know.

It will be to the Bulls Club Annual Fund only.

That is our greatest area of need at this time.

I still haven’t received any of these emails yet. What should I do?

  10. In order to be a slave, one must be forced to do something they otherwise wouldn't want to do. College football players are not forced to play football.

Go on a recruiting trip to a major football school and then let me know if you think college football players are still slaves. I went on a recruiting trip to a DII school my Junior year of high school and one of the coaches handed a player $400 and told them to make sure I  had a good weekend. Modern college football players are the most coddled students there are. Free food, free housing, free clothing, free tutoring, and free tuition, and that's only the legal stuff that everyone knows about. All I know is I would gladly take 4 years of playing college football without pay if it meant I wouldn't be paying another 13 years of student loan payments.

  11. Some fans may not like the color, but I would be willing to bet the players do. Potential recruits will see that jersey and love it as well. We get better recruits/transfers/players, we win, and we bring more fans to games (in a post-covid world). Winning and having more fans at games are more important than fans being in love with every jersey.

For years with UA we were known to have unique color combinations with our jerseys. Granted, we never went full slime, but we had soflo jerseys, jerseys with pink in them that we wore in October, different variations of military uniforms we would wear for military appreciation, patriotic jerseys, etc. I think it would be cool to feature an all gray jersey as an alternative that we could wear on special gamedays. Regardless though, everyone should have seen this coming with the slime jerseys featured by the basketball teams this past season.

  12. Didn't read the whole thread so I apologize if this has already been discussed, but one thing to consider for these players is that their eligibility clock keeps ticking regardless of whether or not they sit out this season (unless the NCAA passed legislation I'm not aware of). The NCAA website states:

    Quote

Division I five-year clock: If you play at a Division I school, you have five-calendar years in which to play four seasons of competition. Your five-year clock starts when you enroll as a full-time student at any college. Thereafter, your clock continues, even if you spend an academic year in residence as a result of transferring; decide to red shirt, if you do not attend school or even if you go part-time during your college career.

So according to that, even if they choose to not play this year, the clock is still ticking and they lose a year to play.
