First I've heard this theory.  Would like to know how many Iron Bulls you've talked to re: this.

Come on. Now he has to lie and we all have to be nice and not call him out on it.

Question shouldn't be limited to IB's. How many alumni and/or other donors talked to that are withholding IPF donations? ..... or who in Athletics is telling you this?

Just a theory, aka my opinion developed over a lunch conversation with some other alumni.

  2. First off, USF does not pay $400k per home game at RJS. They pay just over $200k per home game and 8% (up to $2.50 per ticket) of ticket sales. That is reasonable considering RJS provides law enforcement, medical, security, operations staff, ushers, ticketers, cleanup, parking lot staff, maintenance, equipment operators (sound, scoreboard, etc.), utilities, supplies, and i'm sure more that I don't know about.

Secondly, USF is struggling raising money for the IPF because alumni and other donors are holding back their funds to donate toward an on campus stadium when a fund is available. USF needs to join these two projects into one project, and state that they will begin building the IPF once they reach a certain amount in donations and then will start designing and building the OCS once the IPF is completed and they have reached a specific threshold in donations.

Third, if USF builds an OCS they need to do it right. UCF built a piece of **** stadium and now is having to throw more money into it to repair the so called "bounce house" so that it is structurally sound. It is better to just put the money into it upfront and not have any issues with the stadium.

Lastly, the agreement with RJS ends in 2022, but has an option to extend it for another 5 years. I would not expect there to be any serious OCS talks until #1 the IPF is finished, and #2 the agreement with RJS is nearing its completion.

Who's your internet provider? I pay 69.99/month for 100x10 from Spectrum.

I have spectrum. When I cancelled my cable back in January, I cancelled my internet and cable and then started a new plan. They have a deal where you pay $44.99 for the first 12 months and then $60.99 after that. Next January I am going to either switch to Frontier or get Spectrum to give me the same $44.99 price for another 12 months to stay with them.

Full disclosure, I have been doing that with sirius xm for 2 years now. They keep giving me a promotional 6 months for $5 per month. Then in the 6th month I call to cancel and tell them I can't afford the $48 that it would cost regularly (after taxes) and eventually they give me the same $5 per month price for another 6 months.

Just curious what is your monthly internet costs? Then what is the cost for Sling? Then what is the cost for any pay channels? After all of that, what is your total savings compared to cable?

I pay $39.31 after taxes for Sling each month. I have the sling Blue ($25), comedy extra ($5), and DVR ($5). For internet I pay $44.99 per month. Before I switched, I was paying a total of $154 per month for cable and internet with spectrum. So I save about  $70 per month.

  5. I have been using Sling TV since February and love it. Only complaint is that you do not get CBS sports. I go to all of the home games and can go to a bar for the away games though so that should not be an issue.

I saw a couple people mentioning buffering problems and I gotta throw my 2 cents in, so take it for what it is worth. The buffering has more to do with your internet than with the sling or hulu service. Sling needs around 20mbps to run smoothly. So if you are getting less than that, it will buffer a lot. Additionally, the more devices you have connected to your network, the less bandwidth is available for sling to use. I have 100mbps internet through spectrum and have not seen sling tv buffer once in the 5 (almost 6) months I have had it.

  6. Okay, as I said in my previous post, I feel the jerseys leave a lot to be desired. I put together this image of some of the more popular schools that have adidas sponsorships. As you can see, the jerseys are all pretty much the same, just different colors and different names. I would like to see our away jersey be more like Indiana's, with the "U" logo in place of "South Florida". I miss how our underarmour jerseys incorporated the "U" on the sleeves.

  7. Is there a specific place on UCF's campus that everyone plans to tailgate at? I didn't like the idea of tailgating at a hotel so I didn't purchase a ticket for the Alumni tailgate at the Holiday in. It looks like our options for parking on campus are all small lots a good ways away from the stadium. So where does everyone plan on parking? I saw in another thread that in the past a lot of USF people have parked at Gemini Blvd and Libra Drive. Is that my best bet?
