Not to be a doomsayer, but 4-8 is my honest prediction, with wins only over SC St, SMU, UConn, and ECU. BYU beat some decent teams last year including a few P5, rallied to win a bowl game, and hit their stride with their 3rd year coaching staff. Temple beat us last year. Neither is looking at a significant drop-off. I think we start 0-2 then gain a little steam with 3 cupcakes in a row, but BYU smacks us and Navy continues the skid. At that point, the locker room is likely lost similar to the back half of this past year. We will overcome ECU because they are pathetic, and individual talents alone will carry us past them. The later season games will likely look just like 2018's collapse; some losses won't even be close. CKB may be able to improve the offense enough to overcome Navy, who is rebuilding, and possibly but doubtfully Memphis and Temple. But CKB improvements won't be enough to overcome the weaknesses of CCS & CBJM, and teams are still going to run up the score on our hapless defense while CCS still won't have learned to keep the foot on the gas - he will still manage the game with a "avoid the loss" mindset and can't step on a throat. 7-5 is likely a best-case scenario, at least salvaging a bowl game. The coaching staff utterly lost the locker room last year during the 0-6 slide, and the fragile optimism to start this year won't take many beats before giving way altogether.

I know some here will meltdown regardless but people really should start mentally preparing themselves for the possibility that we sign nobody new this signing day....  We are really only in on like 2-3 kids right now and we are severely limited on schollies because our classes are so badly out of balance.  I don't see CCS just adding bodies just to add bodies so if we miss on Linton and Logan I think we just bank the schollies we have and look at the one and done type transfer guys between now and fall camp.  The staff had to be very careful after early signing day because if we just took guys to take "a full class" we would have a like 12-13 player class next cycle, even with the current known defections....   Taking guys just because you can right now would really hamstring us long term, especially when those vital schollies can be used for more talented kids next season.

I know some here will still meltdown because TBP has never met a reason to meltdown it didn't like but I figured I would still put this out there......

I would at least like to sign Logan. He would be our top recruit this year according to 247.

As a fellow Bulls fan, I get your frustration, but understand that a big percentage of Americans don’t even know far more important, basic things about U.S. or world history, or their own form of government. But they can tell you who got kicked off Dancing with the Stars last week.

Instead of getting angry or indignant, educate them. Just explain that USF is a different school in a different town, and how our favorite play on offense is the halfback dive.

Of course, it’s not lost on me that USF lacks notairty, even in the Tampa Bay Area. It is more comical to me than infuriating, but I found it odd that someone would give there money to an athletic department but not know it has a football team as well.

  4. Today I met an old married couple who were USF basketball donors years ago and had no idea we had a football program. They knew we renovated the sundome so it wasn’t like they were completely out of touch. This definitely tops the list of oblivious disrespectful comments about our football program throughout the years. Other notable mentions:

Guy on the Chicago boat tour who asked me if we were the school that had that great story about the player with one hand.

Co-worker who told me she was sorry about what happened to our quarterback on Black Friday.

And the countless people I’ve met who think we play in the FCS.

It was even worse this year because everyone and their mother knew we were 7-0 and then lost 5 straight. I hate small talk in general, but having to explain to a layman person the reasoning behind the downfall is completely pointless.

This is a great sign. Let's hope he stays on the team and is as productive on defense as Mike Ford was running the ball.

When are we going to bring Ford back to campus to do scared straight seminars on drivers license? Until that happens, I see this continuing.

It's about that time this year I give my annual Green and Gold goggles speech…but this ain’t it. I’ll save that “IF” we lose a game this year. In the words of Lennox (the Jamaican gangster) from the movie “Belly” (Many of you guys probably have never seen it) – “Don't you ever bring scared business to me. You lookin at the toughest rasclat Jamaican in the United States of America.” I’m trying to understand the great fear we have of upcoming Houston. Their defense is ranked 116th. They do have the 4th ranked offense, I’ll give them that. But besides that, but South Florida has the 14th ranked offense and 80th ranked defense. We are36 spots ahead of them on defense and they are 10 spots ahead of us on offense. I REFUSE 2 fear them or any other remaining teams! These stats don’t include this past weekend, but I don’t think much will change. There are only 2 teams that blow us out in both categories – Cinci and C. Every other team we blow out in either offense of defense. Truth be told, I think we are much better than our stats and have better athletes than all the teams we face.  That being said, if you scared go ahead and tuck your tail b/w your legs, but if you have faith in the football Gods, beat your chest and let’s get ready to close out this season undefeated!!!

    USF –            Offense - #14th,    Defense #80

    Houston –    Offense – #4th,      Defense #116

    Tulane –       Offense -#91st,      Defense #111th

    Temple –      Offence – #89th,   Defense – #65th

    Cincinnati – Offense - #27th,     Defense – 4th

    C. –                Offense - #3rd,       Defense- #65th

Belly was a good movie considering it starred two rappers. One of my favorite parts is when DMX buys that car with a bag of cash...that’s how I envision buying my next car after winning the powerball.

  7. This conversation again? I feel like this has been debated several times before. My side is that I always want them to lose no matter what, but the argument can be made that we’ve never beaten them when they were good(I don’t really count winning CUSA in 2007 as “good”). When we’ve both been good, which was last year, they won. The feeling of knocking them off at their highest point is appealing.
