  1. Glue guy yes, but we have I think a total of 3 guys 6-8 or taller. We need height and he gives us quality and height. Also next year Peters will be joining us after he sits out this year and we have a slew of guards on the roster currently that may grow to become outside threats. I can't wait to see if he can couple this commit with another but time will tell. Coach O has certainly been putting in work.
  2. If I am done with school and have found a job by then, school should be done for me in March, I will be there!
  3. Montero is a guy that could make our squad electric from the jump. I AM beginning to worry about the lack of size on our squad though.
  4. Kansas state, Clemson, UAB, Tennessee and a few more, here's a link http://www.verbalcommits.com/players/ty-hudson
  5. Just watched some video on this kid, he is definitely an athlete. The kid had burst to the hole which is a nice plus at the 3. Naturally as a young kid he looked like he could use some weight but that would come with some weight training.
  6. I think fan does support have a little bearing on a recruits decision. But a very little lol. I'm more interested in throwing my attention into who we might be scouting for next year. Names like Blankeny, Bacon, and Ali were all tossed out there at some point but I haven't seen news in a while. Yea I know it's early but I'm impatient lol
  7. Am I the only person that did not know OMG was definitely leaving? I don't know where I would post this otherwise lol
  8. UCF is not in Orlando, and I don't know of many colleges where the city influences the students. Most students can't afford the things that cities provide. So the Heat being in the Finals didn't influence Murphy? I don't know. Did we get any bump in recruiting from the Bucs winning the Superbowl? Did UM get recruiting bumps for the Heat's two championships? I'm not saying that a city winning a championship and their college recruiting class that year is directly positively correlated. What I am saying is, that this particular young man was in Miami, as evidenced by the tweet I quoted earlier and one indicating he would have been "lit" if they were playing game 2 in Miami, when the city was turned up during the finals. What twenty year old wouldn't have had an amazing time, and how would that amazing time not factor in to his decision on where to play ball? Seems pretty basic to me lol. Unless having a good experience when visiting a school doesnt sway 19-20 year olds decision making. (As a 24 yr old I am inclined to think the contrary)
  9. "South beach wit it tonight ..."- tweeted by Murphy 7:01pm - 10 Jun 14 I'm saying he wasn't JUST on campus. He was enjoying himself down there and the excitement of the Finals I am sure contributed to the atmosphere.
  10. But to be fair, this kid visited Miami during and between games 2-3 of the finals. The basketball atmosphere had to be through the roof down there. That put Miami ahead in itself. As far as canty, I hear Coach Pearl is a hard guy to pass up and it was his initial choice. I think definitely give him another solid couple years and Coach O will be up and running
  11. Funny thing is the only way it appeared he could come here was when Canty decommited .. We don't want this guy anyway...he's a quitter (sarc...too soon?). Disappointing, but good to have a schollie available in case an op arises. Not too soon .... too late ... way too late. And reportedly, the 2015 basketball recruiting class will be the best in the history of college hoops so it will be advantageous to have another schollie in pocket. This. Granted, we needed some help very badly when the rats jumped the ship, but it seemed like we were getting short-term help at the expense of long-term shot at excellence. I'm kinda releived we're down 1 scholly at the moment. I think that gives us four for next year. My line of thinking exactly. I mentioned such with in the Montero thread, great minds lol. Could give us a nice boost in the class to come.
  12. Agreed, we may have an extra schollie to roll into next years recruiting class if we don't land Murphy as well. Could make for an explosive 2015 class
  13. "Oklahoma State transfer @Kdot_Murphy21 is still on his Miami visit. Family now lives in Atlanta. Muling Miami & USF."- Adam Zagoria tweet
  14. I saw the tweet from the espn correspondent, at least he thinks it's legit. Sad news
  15. Canty recanted? What does that mean for Murphy. Being out both would sting
  16. Today is the day! Good luck fellow Bulls! Hopefully it goes well
  17. Because we currently don't have another scholarship to give out for this year Maybe this is kind of like over signing in football ... Wonder what the drop dead date is for only having 13 on scholarship. Perhaps, he could grey shirt, and have his scholarship count towards next year. I don't know. I'm not acquainted with how such things work, I'm just starting to delve into college basketball, but I still hope we make it work! Ever the optimist I am
  18. Have I mentioned how high I am on this kid? I would be ecstatic if we made this happen. I feel like he or someone knows something we don't for him to still visit and for him to still say we are a top landing possibility. I intend to keep my hopes up.
  19. I mean, scoring machines are always a plus, but our back-court is already looking a little crowded. Kimari Murphy is a little more intriguing when it comes to need, fit, and potential I think. Not that I know if we could make room for ANY other player.
  20. It's a shame, lots of guard recruiting and a couple big men (can't overstate how excited I am about bringing in another big man) but we haven't heard much at the forward. Another guy to add depth would have been great but I won't get greedy.
  21. Would that explain the lack of Block numbers also ... a lot of shooting from outside the paint so not a whole of chances to block? Egbunu only averaged a little over 1 block but watching the games, there were a lot of altered shots put up to try and avoid him ... EDIT- Valid points, but some of that is coaching and scheme as well. Poor shot selection can be coached, court positioning as well. If the plan is to use him in the paint or inside 10 ft then I would imagine that's where the coaching staff will make sure he stays. We have brought in talented wing men, if coaching a 6-10 mammoth on how to stay in close proximity to the basket is our biggest battle I am ok with that
  22. WOW. I'll say this, Coach O got grinding on recruiting and has brought in some quality talent so far. I guess we will find out soon how well that talent meshes and how well the progress on the court. Glad to hear it!
  23. After all the guard talk, i am glad to see we added another big. Congrats Coach O, now it's just a question of his development and that of our other newer recruits.
