  1. I have been trying to find a transfer rule resource for the AAC but I haven't. What I have read suggests that he will have to sit out a year and potentially then lose a year of eligibility on the back end.

That being said, reports from McBuckets stated that he would be eligible to play for SMU by December of 2017. This may be because he transitioned to a JUCO school after leaving us but I can not be certain. If Juwan wanted to transfer to us but had to sit for 2 years after, I would find that very strange.

  2. This kid is transferring from Delaware this season and Russ Woods is inclined to report that we are in the recruiting process. I haven't seen much solid but I wanted to bump this until I do.

He almost transferred last season but his current coach got him to reconsider. He was coming off a torn ACL and averaged 18.5 minutes a game although his time dropped as the season progressed. His former coach does nothing but boast of his attitude and ethic.

Saw a report where Chad Dollar is a candidate to possibly join Coach Gregory's staff. Imo that would be a outstanding hire as well seeing as he played at USF and had enjoyed success as an asst coach at numerous stops including at GT with Coach Gregory. He's currently on Bruce Pearl's staff at UT. Throw some good (dollars) at this man and bring him back home.

I'm told another @USFMBB assistant could be announced as early as today. 2 names I keep hearing: Jon Borovich, Chad Dollar. We'll see.

Saw this. Unsure as to the degree of success, mediocre Auburn team and GT was underwhelming. I will say this, he would come with experience and a fine body of work behind him to be respectable at least. His relationship with Coach Gregory, as they have worked together in he past, does bring one to feel a degree of stability within the staff doesn't it?

Rod Strickland, brought over from Kentucky by former coach Orlando Antigua, has been offered this position after rumors of his interest began a little over a week ago. This comes after the departure of Byron Samuels who seemed to leave on less than amicable terms with the program. Former Head Coach Byron Samuels left with a statement of facts defending his three year tenure at the school. With a handful of Antigua students left on the Bulls roster, he would seem to have little reason to stand pat here. Only time will tell.

  5. We have enough players to put on the court but no bench essentially.

We have three big men, Tulio, Manderson, and Martin. If they can all act like big men and rebound, box-out, score from the post and deter teams from driving to the basket then there is still a way for this team to succeed. The problem is that the only one we have proof of potential to do that is Tulio.

Bibby, until further notice, will be primary ball handler and will need to show major improvement on the pick and roll as well as his court vision as a whole.

The size we have up front can be an asset if the kids we have there can improve.

This analysis brought to you through rose colored glasses yes, but someone had to do it.

What am I missing? Isn't that the year he went 8-10 in the ACC & was tied for 11th place? His record at Georgia Tech was terrible. Best finish was 9th in the ACC. As most things, time will tell. But, seems like a lame hire to me.

I mean, at this point if he tallied 8 wins total it would be a step in the right direction. Not speaking to Coach K's point but still.

I am more interested in seeing how he recruits Florida. He did an ok job in Georgia but there are more schools here vying for those players already.

  7. We can talk about COA and his hand in personnel but it is not his fault that we are not bringing the ball in to the men down low. Not the reason they are playing sloppy. Not the reason they are trying drive while out muscled and keeping the ball outside opting for low percentage shots. Pull the ball inside, put it into Tulio's hands, G's hands, or Santos' hands and let them get comfortable and go to work. Rather than the chaotic "drive the lane" tactic.

Where are the COA apologists whose best argument for retaining him was that CWT turned it around in Year 3?

If COA runs off his best inherited players, losses 75% of his games in two years, then has his program investigated for academic fraud and then can't get players who signed with the program to attend, how am I supposed to think that Year 3 is going to be better?

I'll get back to you after work tomorrow. It isn't going to end with me saying Year 3 is certainly going to be better though.

I'd love for Martin to be in that class but doubt he gets the waiver .... and just a gut feeling with Manderson but I don't think we see him in a game. Hope the feeling is wrong.

That would sting since him and Ruben are the only guys eligible next year over 6'9
