If they do renew the Thanksgiving series beyond 2013, it doesn't appear it will extend past the 2016 season, because UM has just signed a deal with Notre Dame for a 3 game series.

Miami, Notre Dame Set Dates for Soldier Field Game and Home-and-home Series

Posted by Kevin (Admin) on 07/21/2010 - Permalink

The Miami Hurricanes and the Notre Dame Fighting Irish have set the dates for their game at Soldier Field and their ensuing home-and-home football series, The Miami-Herald has reported.

The Canes and Irish will meet at Soldier Field in Chicago on October 6, 2012. It will be the first contest between the two schools away from their home stadiums since the 1979 Mirage Bowl in Tokyo, Japan. Notre Dame won that game 40-15.

Notre Dame will host Miami in South Bend on October 8, 2016. The return game will be November 25, 2017 at Miami, which is the Saturday of Thanksgiving weekend.

Miami and Notre Dame have played 23 times since 1955. The Fighting Irish lead the overall series 15-7-1. In their last meeting in South Bend in 1990, Notre Dame beat Miami 29-20.

I think it was pretty well assumed that Miami was not interested in continuing the series.

Miami is about the $ and we don't compare to Notre Dame in that arena.  Welcome to THUG U

FSU will always be their main rival. ND was a good rivalry for them back in the day

We need to win at least ONE before its over to even expect them to renew.  If there is one thing you have to respect about the Miami program, is they will play just about anyone.

Gotta win one real soon. My vote is for next year in Ray Jay.

They may play us from time to time but they won't renew a long term series with us again.

Very misleading title, by the way.

I concur.  The title had me psyched.

We need to win one of these soon so we don't become Miami's UCF.  :-[
