We have gotten news of another big time transfer and a walk-on in the same week (Boyd and Adcock)

Lets get a list of all the major program transfers we have had in the past and then lets look at how many actually contributed...

I'm not trying to be a downer here but I have seen all this excitement in the about guys coming to USF from other programs only to have them not perform or not even make it on the field.

I can't think of them all but off the top of my head how about....

Cortney Denson (auburn)

Derrick Rose (fsu)

Kion Wilson (was a great Bull)

Don't include guys from small schools or d-2 or juco and if you can...include the school that they left.

so Andre Hall and JPP won't count.

I am just curious as to how many really made an impact.

Tyrone McKenzie (Michigan State)

McKenzie actually played for three schools and was at Iowa State before USF.

MSU ---> ISU ---> USF

I don't know whether DiShon Platt would fit into the "transfer" category, since he signed with FSU, but did not qualify. He probably was the most heralded player who enrolled at USF, but never played:

South Florida accepts receiver DiShon Platt

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

TAMPA -- DiShon Platt is headed for South Florida. Directly.

Platt, a blue-chip receiver recruit from Punta Gorda Charlotte, has been accepted as a student by USF, the registrar's office confirmed Friday to the Times.

Platt signed with Florida State but did not qualify academically, so he is ineligible for athletic aid from USF (or any four-year school) and cannot be a member of the football team until fall 2003.

Platt must complete 24 credits by next summer (the fall semester begins Monday) to become eligible to play and eligible for scholarship. USF players Shurron Pierson and Cedric Battles followed such a path.

Platt, 6 feet, 175 pounds, would begin next fall as a sophomore but could earn a fourth year of eligibility by graduating in four years. He would be the third Charlotte High receiver on the Bulls roster, joining junior Elgin Hicks and sophomore Bruce Gipson.

Rated the No. 2 receiver and No. 16 senior in the nation last fall by rivals.com, Platt had considered attending Hillsborough Community College and transferring to USF, or attending Jones (Miss.) County Junior College and transferring to Florida State.

He had 69 receptions for 1,055 yards and 15 touchdowns as a senior, and as a junior he led the state with 1,470 receiving yards. Platt also plays basketball and said he would like to play both sports in college.

WR Amp Hill(? or Lee?)

Haha, I *always* get them confused. Amp Lee was an NFL receiver, Amp Hill transferred from LSU to USF. Amp Hill's legacy is a dropped two-point conversion that would have tied it late in USF's first loss to Rutgers, in 2006.

We've talked about getting back to being the toughest, most violent people out there. Let's be the best version of ourselves and really get back to the culture of how we (USF) used to step across the line and play anybody. Let's hold on to the culture of when they were tough … and they (opponents) knew it was going to be long damn day for themselves.
