that 5 of his players were drafted this year.  more than any other big east team, or miami or fsu.

food for thought

Obviously we had talent on our team yet we could only when 3 or 4 BE games a year.  I guess Leavitt was pretty bad.

NFL potential isn't the same as college production. Guys like JPP, Murphy, and Mitchell were all drafted on their potential and their freak athleticism. Nor does a roster of NFL potential players necessarily equal wins. Where are our draft picks from the DT/OL positions?

Everyone knows we have talent at the skill positions we get our butts handed to us in the trenches..a place were not producing draft picks.

the record was never where it needed to be.  But he could recruit.  We did pretty **** well overall.

Jim was a better recruiter than some people give him credit for. Like someone else noted Arizona State produced 4 draft picks and their record is nothing to be in awe of.

Individual talent != team success

    We've talked about getting back to being the toughest, most violent people out there. Let's be the best version of ourselves and really get back to the culture of how we (USF) used to step across the line and play anybody. Let's hold on to the culture of when they were tough … and they (opponents) knew it was going to be long damn day for themselves.

    "There is no inherent fear among this group of players. The fear of failing drove the program from day one - the fear of failing the coaches, the fan base, the university, each teammate, themselves. Now, as we head into the biggest game in our history at home on a national stage against the highest ranked team to step on OUR field, the players are taking an introspective look at themselves. Unfortunately, I don't know if they get it. They lack the fear."
