As far as I know he, like many other WR/RBs has done both since High School.  Many down lineman also do Field events.  Living next door to his former HS, I saw him play as a senior, and I can tell you he was never afraid to take a hit, so I would not say he was a track star playing football.

I think the position change will show his skills, which will make him a ball player running track.  There have been a lot of track stars that thought they could come out play football, but never panned out. You can see LL has the athletic ability to play football, as stated by everyone his size and the way they were using last year didn't fit.

Lamar is a wide receiver and NOT a running back... we have him in the wrong spot. If he stays in the RB slot then he will be hurt more often then not.

Ha already has been moved to WR, on the new depth chart.

I think he's a student running track and playing football.  Both are equal with his speed.

Lets watch him on the football field for a whole year then ask this question. He was injured last year too.

not being afraid to take a hit and being able to withstand a hit are two different things.

however, lamar has some very strong legs and i think he can be very dangerous in open space (something holtz realized in just a few days but leavitt didnt figure out in a full year)
