BJ will arrive when...

IMO, He starts to hit the intermediate route over the MIDDLE!

Too often it is there and he is not seeing it!  Now in his defense, this is the most difficult to learn.

Right now, our offense is too predicated on BJ breaking down the defense and making plays. 

Too seldom (if ever this year, I can only think of the one drive in 3rd quarter against WVU) do we have a drive where the plays just work and move down the field.  Consequently we have 3rd & longs and convert 10 and 11 yard pass plays to convert.  This will not consistently happen against good teams.

Can you imagine how awesome he will become, when the defensive spy has responsibility for BJ and the middle of the field for pass coverage! 

Wow, what a scary thought!  I see a lot of play actions to himself, if that makes any sense!

BJ did a good job yesterday of taking that route.  He's a young QB and will hopefully pick up that and other parts of his game.

As for his arrival, he's already led the team to wins over FSU and WVU so he's well on his way.

Good observations.

Definitely would've made Rutgers a different game, but Schiano knew how to confuse him on defense and cause problems.  That also happened with Pitt in many ways as well.

Generally the intermediate stuff comes with time.  Young QBs don't always pick it up, especially with pressure coming.  There were several times when guys were open in the middle and BJ didn't see it.  Some times he is just too prone to run.

This is what those early games against crummy opponents can be for - to learn how to do this stuff.  Unfortunately we get only one warmup before going to Gainesville next year.

I have not seen this team consistently hit the pass over the middle for 6 years.

Hopefully we see a improved offensive line next year, they are young.

That will give BJ some more time and make that even easier.
