Why didn't Leavitt run a play to the middle of the field, then take our final time out, and give Alvarado a straight kick?  Only thing I can think of is he wanted to save the timeout in case the snap was bobbled.

Some people are saying that we did not have that time out and that ESPN had it wrong.  If we did have the timeout, it was a major screwup.  I was sitting in the house with a big group of people yelling at the TV to run the ball to the middle of the field.

I was hoping we would run a fake field goal since Alvardo has struggled so much.  With Gregory as the holder.  Slip a TE out.  If it is incomplete we still have another down to kick the FG and a time out in case he catches it and is tackled.

But yes, 2nd choice would have been to have Grothe run it to the middle of the field.

Can anyone recall the # of time outs used????

The scoreboard showed 1 timeout left.

I am not sure that we had that timeout.  Seriously.  I thought we used our last one.

Oh and I thought we would QB run it to the center of the field instead of leaving Alvarado on an island out on the left hash mark with a delay of game penalty.  Ugh, I still want to vomit thinking about that.

At some point on the TV coverage I think ESPN took the timeout away and then suddenly it was back.

Hmm... I guess the only way we'd know is if someone took the time to watch it again (bleh).

Scoreboards can be wrong--especially in the trampoline.

Yeah watching the highlights on Sportscenter made me feel like I had to vomit again.  I don't think I can watch this game again.

"There is no inherent fear among this group of players. The fear of failing drove the program from day one - the fear of failing the coaches, the fan base, the university, each teammate, themselves. Now, as we head into the biggest game in our history at home on a national stage against the highest ranked team to step on OUR field, the players are taking an introspective look at themselves. Unfortunately, I don't know if they get it. They lack the fear."
