Nice to see us building depth there.  Now to get these guys on some pretty big meal plans...

  Georgia OL commits to USF

Dublin (Ga.) High OT Trent Barnes verbally committed to the University of South Florida, Dublin coach Roger Holmes told the Atlanta-Journal Constitution Wednesday.

“He enjoyed the relationship he established with the people who recruited him,†Holmes said. “It’s a successful Top 25 program that has the opportunity to win a national championship.â€

Also a possible tight end, Barnes (6-3, 242) also received offers from Troy, East Carolina and Western Kentucky, Holmes said

“He has excellent hands, and he is extremely athletic,†Holmes told the AJC. “He doesn’t play tight end for us because of the type of offense we run, but he can do that at the next level if he doesn’t put on the needed weight to be an offensive lineman.â€

Barnes also plays basketball for Dublin. His brother, Thomas Barnes, plays linebacker for North Carolina State.

Great.

We probably have enough guys to field a pretty decent basketball team.  ;D

He's #26 (green top & green shorts) dunking at the end of this vid:

Yeah, I was wondering about this too.  I'm sure he'll work in the system though.  It seems always better when the competing schools are LSU, UF, and FSU.  I guess they all can't be like that.

Selvie was even smaller when he gave us a verbal as a CENTER. He also had LESS offers. LOL

Because he's small makes him Selvie not.

but if the coaches are willing to sign him this early there must be a good potential for him.  Hope he does well.

With his size and atheticism he can play a wide assortment of positions at USF. Leavitt, will figure it out once he gets here and sees where he would fit best. Many schools try to pigeon-hole recruits. It seems that we have a good track record in thinking outside the box with certain players.
