The image below will be updated by the National Hurricane Center over time... but as of post time the track is just west of Tampa Bay as a Category 1 Hurricane...

Aslong as it doesn't interfere with August 30th then i could care less.

She won't interrupt the start of the season.

With a Tropical Storm passing so close by us this coming Wednesday and we want our team to get a workout in I think we should tell them to move the workout to the Trop.  Plus, it will give them some practice on artificial turf.

Wonderful, my wife and 17 month old son are in the air right now flying to Tampa.  I guess I better call my in-laws to make sure they have some sort of plan in place...

Charley was further south and west at this point. It almost missed Cuba entirely. Also it was such a small storm that it was easy to intensify rapidly. By the time it made landfall, it was more like a 10-mile-wide tornado.

5pm update doesn't look too good. Still a long time until Tuesday, so this thing can change a good deal in the next day or so.

2 of my buddies were supposed to leave for a 2 week vacation to the Keys with their families. They called down @ 11am and were told there was a mandatory evacuation down there.  :-\

There have not been any evacuations ordered yet that I am aware of.  I'd expect evacuation orders for the Keys to come out tomorrow.  I think it takes 8-10 hours to evacuate the Keys, but the people that live there are very prepared so they don't need as much lead time.

Lots of things could happen still, but Fay isn't that far away, so it's a bit problematic.  To this point, Fay is very similiar to Charley's predicted path.  Fay's strength will be almost entirely based on how much interaction she has with Cuba, so it'll be tomorrow evening before we know whether Fay will be a decent hurricane or moderate to weak TS.

Prepare for the worst, and hope for the best.
