Just got my flight on Jet Blue....$377 for 2 round trip.  That's pretty hard to beat.  I'm flying to NY on Sunday and out of Newark on Friday.

We'll stay in Manhattan until Thursday morning and proceed to Piscataway or wherever it is they play...maybe rent a car for the sake of convenience for Thursday and the drive to the Newark airport.

Because we're so early....we also got the front row seats on the plane for all flights.  Sweet.....you should make the commitment now while prices appear to be in your favor.  Go Bulls!

Airtran offers the same fly up Thursday, flyback Friday... Tampa to Newark... $128 plus tax and fees... LOTS of seats available.

Do direct flights, tho.

I would go, but there is really no cheap place to stay.

Pittsburgh, on the other hand, has about 3 different friends of the family who would let me crash at their place and drive me to where I needed to go.

However, if I had a cheap place to stay, I would SO go to the Rutgers game.  I already have the time off OK-ed from work...

We got a room through Expedia for $200/night in New Brunswick...five blocks from the stadium for game night.

Staying in Manhattan for a few days prior to that....suck it up for one night.  There should be some cheap rooms in Jersey somewhere......no?

You're right...I'm getting spoiled in my old age with the nicer beds, I guess.  And I meant for "New York" that's cheap.

Does anyone know if there is transportation from Manhattan to the stadium. For the last game I stayed at my USF buddies house down near Philly and we drove up to game but I would like to stay in Big Apple and combine the trip with some sightseeing.

Pretty sure the subway system will work for the distance you're talking about....maybe check the Rutgers.edu website for directions.

I'll be getting my flights soon...I have friends up at Rutgers who I'll be staying with...can't wait!!!

Oh, and for flights...you are better off going with Airtran into Newark NJ.  They still have Round-Trips for under $150.

Better bring your switchblade if you want to stay in a hotel for less than 100 a night in NY/NJ. lol

I'm still deciding which trip Izzo and I want to go to.  They all require flying  :-/.  It'll most likely be UCONN or Cuse for us, even though I really want to make Rutgets, so I can go back home to New York!!

With the climate going on in NCAA athletics, you’re either moving forward at a hard pace or you’re not. I think what intrigued me the most is they’re very determined to become a big player nationally.
