It used to be that my entire weekend was predicated on the result of the USF game. If we won, I was in a better mood, I enjoyed watching the other games more, I felt more upbeat. If we lost, I hated watching other games because seeing another team win would just set me over the edge. I'd be pissed off the rest of the night, I'd vent on TBP, read articles about how bad we were, etc.

Now, I don't really care. We've been bad for a while. We've been left behind in realignment, the stakes have never been lower. We're on ESPN 8 with empty stands, cameramen who are lost, and announcers who spend more time talking about what they ate for lunch than the in-game action. We look flat and inept week after week. Doesn't really feel like it makes a difference if we win because it seems like there will be a letdown the following week. Unless we start stringing together a bunch of wins, make some noise, and most importantly, are fun to watch, it's not worth getting emotionally invested anymore.

Plus, with NIL, realignment, the sorry state of our team, etc. I don't enjoy college football as much as I used to.

I feel lighter, smile more, speak nicely to my family and read about, listen to and watch everything I can (highlights, interviews).  My food tastes better, the air smells sweeter, etc.  I need an intervention.

This is how I feel also. The NIL the way it’s set up sucks! There are about 20 or so power teams with tons of $$$, the rest  just their “minor league” system. Once one of our players does well he will get “called up”. I used to watch a lot of college football games, now it’s mostly just USF games.

When we win it definitely makes the weekend a lot better. Hopefully we can get back to respectability.

Hmmmm...that reminds me of me. That's very much how I felt...just riding the tide. A win for USF - regardless of opponent - was always a reason to feel good about what next Saturday would bring.  But the past six years, at some point, that connection to outcome pretty much disappeared. Not that I didn't care - at all - just that the amplitude of emotion was reduced, for both wins and losses.

I watch the rotating random gallery pictures and saw a bunch of the tattoos.  I remember after that new logo came out and we were winning, a lot of dudes and a couple ladies adorned themselves with a Bulls tattoo.  That's what winning does to ya.  Funky haircuts, tattoos, covered cars, etc...

With the climate going on in NCAA athletics, you’re either moving forward at a hard pace or you’re not. I think what intrigued me the most is they’re very determined to become a big player nationally.
