Smazza is right.

 

If and when USF moves to the ACC, the conference will have lost its slot in the playoff. The ACC will be a have not conference.

There are currently no slots for specific conferences in the playoffs ..... and it remains to be seen what happens after 2025.

But I like playing those teams that are left.  I guess I'm assuming we will be screwed in the playoffs in any scenario anyway.

It would at least lessen a little, hopefully, the incessant whining about conference mates ...

Even in the worst case scenario where the ACC is raided into oblivion the ACC would still have Syracuse, Pitt, Duke, Boston College, SMU and Cal and would then probably add teams like USF, Tulane, Memphis, San Diego State, Boise State. Would still be a massive upgrade to where we are now. I would totally be down for it.
