Are there people here seriously disputing a move to the Big XII?

Yes. It is absolutely the wrong conference for us.

Remember a couple years ago, when it was about to fall apart with the rumours of OU and TX pulling out? Without those two teams the B12 is deadmen walking.

Even with those 2 teams, we only want to go there because of the money.

If we go, we'll live to regret it.

You must not have any desire to win a Natty Championship and content playing in the Pinstripe Bowl every year

I have every desire to do so, and I have zero desire to play outdoors in a NY baseball stadium in December

I also have zero desire to play in the B12. We don't fit there, and don't belong there.

My first choice would be ACC, as a power conference member

A distance second would be the AAC, if the whole conference would be elevated to be a power conference.

SEC would be next, followed by B10

The B12 would be last on the list, along with SBC, PAC, MWC, and MAC

The ONLY reason to go to the B12 would be if NONE of the first four chances were possible, because we had to do it to get the money to remain competitive. But I wouldn't have to like it.

The only hope we have is that last choice. Big12 or big fat nothing. No way the AAC would be on equal standing with the P5. Even if the fancy fooseball overlords made the AAC part of the new "D1" there would be no respect and zero chance of playing for anything of significance.

Disagree.

All of the above are still possible. You only go home with the ugly B12 chick if it's 3AM and the bar's closing. She's probably caught something anyway (like OU and TX bolting)

It's still early, IMO. Not even 10PM yet.

I'm still hoping for the exotic chick in the corner, playing hard to get. She's a keeper.

Disagree. I'd happily go home with those Texas girls in their skirts, boots, and cowboy hats ANY night. Ditto for the Okies.

I think the first time Oklahoma or Texas came to RJS I'd start warming up to the idea. But hasn't WVU been ******** about the scheduling/travel for all if its non-football sports?

Considering our 2 closest conference mates in the Big East were 900 and 1000 miles away in Louisville and West Virginia, I think we could deal with the travel.

Even if the AAC were elevated to equal footing for the national championship playoff deal, it will still lag far behind in the media money the league will be able to generate. Those are 2 different issues.

Just because the powers that be would allow us to play on the big boy field, it does not change the fact that Temple vs Memphis (in football) creates no viewership or interest to a network.

We need to go where the money is.

Mostly agree. I would switch the SEC and AAC though.

ACC is never happening unless FSU and/or Miami is leaving., so rather be in B12.   I think there will be more fans in seats for Texas and OU than Tulsa and ECU.

Is the argument that the big 12 is not as good because the risk Oklahoma and Texas could leave?

So they call, we say no. And UCF and Cincinnati leaves the AAC. Where exactly does that leave us?

Even if the Texas and Oklahoma schools left, it would still be a better conference than what we are left with after this year.

Not exactly sure how you get that from the posts. Where did you get that anyone even remotely suggest saying "no"?

Zachary

If they call, we say yes.

But I don't have to like it.

It'd be better than what we have now, but far from ideal.
