Did a quick search and couldn't find exact numbers, but I did find this in a article Brett McMurphy wrote about our evolution from 1-AA to Big East:

Outside the administrative offices at 10 this morning, Genshaft and Athletic Director Doug Woolard will raise a Big East flag signifying USF's new conference membership. Some cynics suggest USF - restricted by one of the Big East's lowest athletic budgets and competing in arguably the nation's top men's basketball conference - should instead raise a white flag.

We need to direct this post to the Miami fan that argued that their program does all that they do on "limited resources" because they're not a public institution

The article in today's Trib:

Bulls Working To Make It Big Four

BRETT MCMURPHY

Published: Sep 29, 2005

TAMPA

If two's company and three's a crowd, can there ever be a Big Four in Florida?

Florida, Florida State and Miami have been the undisputed Big Three, but Miami coach Larry Coker doesn't view USF as a "lesser" school.

"My position on that is, again, we're not playing a lesser school now," Coker said. "They're a Big East school. They have a leg up on winning the Big East, a chance to play in a BCS bowl game. So I think with their status, it's not a bad decision playing them."

When -- or if -- USF is considered part of the Big Four depends on several factors, including success on the field, bowl berths and increasing the athletic department's budget.

USF's $18 million budget is a fraction compared to the Big Three (Florida's is $64 million, Miami's $47 million and Florida State's $33 million).

And did we mention the team is taking three buses to Miami instead of flying? USF associate AD Tom Veit said it would be more convenient than busing to the airport, boarding and unboarding a plane, and busing to the hotel. He said he was sure the football coaches and players agree with him.

They don't.

Riding a cramped bus for five hours instead of a 60-minute plane ride? Perception is reality, and the perception is USF is trying to save a few pennies. Ironically, this occurs a week after the football program garnered more national publicity for the school than it had ever received by upsetting No. 9 Louisville.

Despite these internal limitations, the football program continues to do what no one would have thought was possible nine years ago: challenge to make it the Big Four.

"With the program and coaching staff we have, it will be one day," USF sophomore WR Amarri Jackson said. "I don't know if it will be anytime I'm here, or if it might be in the near future."

Two years ago nobody twisted USF's arm -- well, maybe the security personnel at last week's game did -- to accept an invitation to a BCS league. Now it's time USF's administration starts acting like that of a BCS school.

Brett's a bit ugly on us  :(

And its completely warranted. We can't go on and on about wanting to be considered in the same class as UF, FSU and UM then not open up the wallet and get a plane or two to bring the kids and staff down to Miami.

I say "it's" NOT "completely warranted" ...

Remember though ... it's the fans that fill that wallet ... He should be hammering the alum and football fans of Tampa.

Go BULLS !!!
