Congrats to UCONN who wins the 2015-16 American Cup. Most Improved goes to USF who added 23 points to their total and finished second. Biggest failure goes to UCF who dropped 33 points year over year and ended up in 9th. Best 2 year average is Tulsa @ 126.5, worst 2 year average is Tulane @ 68.75 (USF is 3rd best @ 111.5). Cant wait till next year! GO BULLS!!!

Uconn 126.5
USF 123
Tulsa 118.5
Houston 96
Cincinnati 93.5
Memphis 93
ECarolina 89
SMU 86.5
UCF 86
Temple 85
Tulane 67

USF did very well,

Not taking anything away from UCONN but, it should be pointed out that, they do compete in more NCAA sports than USF. They, therefore, have more opportunities to accumulate points.

There is a large disparity between the top three schools and the rest of the conference.

Yes that is true.
However, what they compete in that USF does not is M&W Swimming and Rowing - They got a total of 4 points out of those three sports.
USF competes in Womens Golf, UConn does not, USF got 7 points out of that.
So if we remove those sports they beat us by even more.

Additionally, we can't average, it would take away the bonus a school receives for fielding the sport that others do not, and, Navy is only active in 1 sport, if they won the championship should they win the American Cup? I say no.

Per Harlan, Women's Rowing is the next sport to be added.

I am personally glad to hear they are going to add Rowing, it is a great sport and Florida has fantastic facilities.  My daughter is on a college rowing team and it has been a great experience for her (including the winter training trip they took to Tampa).

Agreed.  Just go down to the Riverwalk and you'll see the names of all the college teams that come down to train here written on the seawalls.

He estimated that will take about $1MM to start it.

A million seems a bit high, you would think to start they could share a boat house with the club team (fairly common).  An 8 person shell will run about 40K, you would need at least two plus a four and a trailer, for a starter college team.

Since only women's rowing is a varsity sport it is a nice title IX offset.

You have to add the costs of scholarships, coaching, etc.
