  1. It's hard to blame an 18 year old for not understanding "commitment" when the schools making the offers oversign and give non-committable offers out. Without knowing any specifics, I don't think it would be unfair to say that schools have pulled offers from athletes before when a better prospect has landed in their lap. If the school can't give any reciprocity and only looks out for themselves why shouldn't the athlete do the same? Until NSD everything is fair game and USF will probably flip a few, just like we will lose a few.

  2. IMO, the key to the MSU game is going to be our d-line.  If they can get to the QB and take some pressure off of our DBs, we could be competitive and maybe even win.  I don't think, (again my opinion), we're going to see many stupid mistakes on offense.

I believe we will live and die with the front 4 all season long and not just against MSU. They need to play well to protect the secondary and help force turnovers. The offense will obviously try to establish the run and rely on getting the ball to Davis in the passing game. There are too many questions at this point to think we are going to be able to hang a lot of points on anybody.

That said, I can't see us getting enough pressure against the Spartans unless Lynch is a one man wrecking crew that game or Giddins play steps up immensely.

  3. The three that have been spurned should file a class action lawsuit against the leagues.   That will get their attention.   They need to be able to prove the loss of revenue do to the relegation.    I will bet USF season ticket sales will drop off once CUSA 2.0 schedule kicks in.

After lurking for years I have no idea why your post compelled me to finally register and post, but they probably couldn't get certified for a class action. There isn't a practical problem in joining the three schools as plaintiffs. That said, if alumni from the schools brought the action they probably could certify as a class, but would have a weaker case. I do agree with you that there is probably some type of anti-trust violation that could be claimed in all of this, but I have no idea what it would be. When all else fails (which it has) it's time to unleash the lawyers.
