IMO, That's not yet a sure thing.

Our destiny in the end depends on our final CFP ranking.

Remember, we play one less game than the MWC champion.

It's not a "guaranty" that the MWC champion having one loss, but also one more win than USF, would be behind us in their ranking.

Thankfully, there is only one MWC team with only one loss and that is SDSU.

If SDSU loses one more game and USF is undefeated, at that point we will be in control of our own destiny.

If, however, SDSU does not lose any more games, it is still possible for the CFP to rank them ahead of USF in their final poll. Of course, that's even more possible,  if Stanford and Arizona State keep winning.

Much depends on where UCF is ranked when we play them and who we play in the AAC championship game.

At this point, it looks like we have the inside track over a one loss MWC team for the Peach Bowl, but that isn't yet a certainy.

No chance absolutely zero they get ranked ahead if we finish undefeated

I was wrong about CWT leaving because my opinion was emotional, but logically, I see no reason for Charlie Strong to leave USF for any school not named UF, UM, FSU or Arkansas. For you glass half empty folks on this board who thinks the team will crumple w/o QF, um…you said the same thing about USF after Marlon Mack and Rodney Adams left and we are still BALLING offensively. There is a lot of receiving talent on this squad and Kean and Oladukan are both better passers than QF so we definitely will see an increase in our passing game. And with Cronkite, Sands and whomever comes after Sands, we should be good at running back as well. I see our defense only getting better.  Charlie is a great recruiter, so is the staff, and the strength of schedule improves the next 3-4 years including a revenge game against Texas. I can guarantee he is not leaving this year and just can’t see him leaving in the next 4 years. If we keep winning, the fans will come. Some of you guys need to have more faith in the football Gods. And hell even if he was to leave, USF is a job mad coaches would love and life goes on.  I like Larry Scott and would be ok with TJ Weist coming back to coach. Hell, I’m starting to think Shaun King is developing well and in 1-2 years he will start getting some serious looks.

Your delusional if you think there will not be a drop-off in our offensive production once flowers leaves. You remind me of the FSU fans who thought they would lose Winston and Cook and get better.  He's the best QB we've ever had.  Prepare to most likely be wrong again. Our offense will regress.  For Gods sakes were about to tie the record for consecutive 30 pt games.  So maybe I'm taking this wrong and you mean just passing but either way even if that increases our Rushing will decrease because you can't bet your butt that who ever the QB is won't be running as much.

  3. it will all work itself out.  Michigan is not that good. They still have to play Penn state and Ohio state.  I don't care where UCF is ranked, we play them so we will get our shot.  **** I hope they're ranked #1. when we play them (farfetched).  A lot of this teams ahead of us are not as good as their made out to be.  I honestly feel there maybe 8-10 teams better than us right now.  All we gotta do is win

Yea difference makers you know guys that the BIG 3 want.  4 star guys like Flowers DJ Mack and others.  Only need a couple to make a difference.  Difference being winning and losing tough games.  Not trying to be difficult just constructive.  When the touchdowns dry up it is because partly we were too scared to recruit against bigger programs.

yes because all those stars is working so well for those schools right now.  I feel confident right now we have the best team in Florida out of the big 3.  Our biggest threat is UCF not Miami or Florida or Florida st

  5. I like this Era because we battled back to be a good team again after the Holtz fiasco.  Now this time we just gotta continue to build on it.. These current batch of recruits did an amazing job,  From 2 wins to now.  This incoming class is very important as is our biggest class and we need to continue moving forward.  All we need now is a few signature wins to get it sparked up again.

UF will lose at least 4 games this year and possibly 5. Do they then come after Ol Charlie?

boy I hope not.. I would like to get at least 1 full recruiting class in here before he leaves. Constantly changing coaches and systems does not benefit us and the players.  I get it that were going to lose coaches but I hope they can be here at least 3-4 years before we do. ( provided that they're successful)

What we did last year probably was a factor in the preseason ranking this year I guess, although I'm not crazy about preseason rankings. I think 20-25 is fair. Look forward to seeing us against decent competition to gauge how good this team is, but when does that happen?

Exactly. I'm not saying we shouldn't be ranked, but I don't get why what we did last year means anything right now. We finished the year #19. Since then, we've lost xCWT, Mack, and Adams and added a head coach that went 16-21 at his last stop. Then to kick off 2017, we looked ok against probably the worst team in FBS football, looked about the same against a bottom feeder FCS team, and then looked very solid against probably the second worst team in FBS football. I'll take #21 at this point.

Ok I see your point but what did Miami or UF do last year to be ranked? Which of their "awesome" QBs are coming back?  All we needed was to have our best player back Quinton flowers and we should have the benefit of doubt over UF and Miami

Based on Matt Bakers Twitter, doesn't look like he is going to rank us in the top 25 again this week.

im not a twitter guy .. but my question would be will Michigan drop for scoring exactly 1 gimme  LATE offensive td vs Air Force? for struggling the week before against a bottom feeding Cincy team? where they had a 7 point lead in with 3 minutes in the 4th qtr?  or watching a extremely painful UF vs UT game where both teams have no business being ranked? Auburn beating Mercer 24-10? or is it just us ? curious

And that is my argument that UF should have never even been ranked going into this weekend at 0-1.

oh I agree.. who came back that makes them so formidable? What established QB? they had so many questions and automatically ranked? IF we go undefeated and lose all our seniors do you think we will get a ranking next year? I don't think so.

Michigan didn't look so good against AFA. Michigan lost a lot of upper class men so I expect them to lose a few games this season.

they lost 16 starters.. One of my friends is a huge Michigan fan.  I told him there was no way they make the playoffs this year.  Cincy hung with them late in the 3rd qtr with Michigan only having a 7 point lead.  Speights is terrible.  They struggled with Air Force.  No way they beat the Wisconsins penn st or Ohio state.. they are only ranked by name.. No team loses 16 starters and should be ranked in the top 10 under any circumstances
