I don't think Bulls fans, the state of Florida, or the country for that matter knows what is going to happen here at USF. Simply put this program is about explode and the reasons for that are very easy to understand. Taggart whether politically correct or not is an African American coach in an urban city surrounded by some of the best talent in the entire nation. He is a no nonsense, highly driven, and strong willed coach who will impose his personality and swagger onto this team, and the area. The results of this will be highly infectious and galvanizing.
I refer you to the University of Miami and their rise to dominance in the 80s and 90s. Believe it or not it was not the University of Miami that attracted the talent for what would later become one of the most dominant college football dynasties ever, but rather an attitude that emerged from its area and its coaches. We have all the makings of that here at USF. Soon I suspect that players will begin to unite around Taggart. Hes young, hes confident, and even though I like to keep race separate from football he is Black. Simply put Taggart out of any coach in the state of Florida is the most relatable to the average blue chip prospect coming out of the state, in fact he was one just over 15 years ago. Tampa without a doubt has put out some of the most talent in the entire nation over last couple of recruiting cycles. I think Taggart can talk these athletes into representing their city and sticking together.
Teams like Miami Florida, FSU, and even USF for that matter have the talent to compete for a national title and beat anybody on their schedule week in and week out, The problem is usually getting all that talent to work and be disciplined. Take a look at the teams around the state who have won on the big stage, you will see teams with tremendous talent as well as strong disciplined head coach and program. We are building that here now.
A sleeping giant lies dormant at USF, and I think the man has arrived who will finally wake it
