  1. Willingham and Randy Shannon lacked "juice" "swagger" or whatever you want to call it. Taggart has "it". "It" is what makes people great, its what makes great coaches, and eventually great programs. We have the talent we have the facilities what we have been missing is "it" something we were building before Holtz and something we just a big dosage of with our hire of Taggart.
  2. I argue that the attitude precedes the talent. Look at Florida from 2005-2006 they had all the talent in the world under Zook. They didn't win because they lacked attitude and discipline, they received that under Meyer it propelled them to a national title after two years of him taking over. I have watched a lot of college football if we are not in the top 5 in three years feel free to come back to this thread and bash me. I have seen it happen at a lot of schools, and come fall this will be a different team than the one that stunk it up last year. Book it
  3. What I like about some of the things he has mention, he's looking to win now, not when he getget his players here. He want to develop these young man into winners. Take 2 star athletes and make him into a 3,4, or 5 star. No excuses should be tolerated. Beat the man in front of them. Has there ever been a coach that comes in saying he's not looking to win now? Randy Shannon isnt Willie T and it isn't even close. There isnt any swagger about Shannon in fact he sucked it out of UM and made it a boring place to play. Would have loved him as a DC here but let's not compare two guys who are nothing alike except for their race.
  4. I don't think Bulls fans, the state of Florida, or the country for that matter knows what is going to happen here at USF. Simply put this program is about explode and the reasons for that are very easy to understand. Taggart whether politically correct or not is an African American coach in an urban city surrounded by some of the best talent in the entire nation. He is a no nonsense, highly driven, and strong willed coach who will impose his personality and swagger onto this team, and the area. The results of this will be highly infectious and galvanizing. I refer you to the University of Miami and their rise to dominance in the 80s and 90s. Believe it or not it was not the University of Miami that attracted the talent for what would later become one of the most dominant college football dynasties ever, but rather an attitude that emerged from its area and its coaches. We have all the makings of that here at USF. Soon I suspect that players will begin to unite around Taggart. Hes young, hes confident, and even though I like to keep race separate from football he is Black. Simply put Taggart out of any coach in the state of Florida is the most relatable to the average blue chip prospect coming out of the state, in fact he was one just over 15 years ago. Tampa without a doubt has put out some of the most talent in the entire nation over last couple of recruiting cycles. I think Taggart can talk these athletes into representing their city and sticking together. Teams like Miami Florida, FSU, and even USF for that matter have the talent to compete for a national title and beat anybody on their schedule week in and week out, The problem is usually getting all that talent to work and be disciplined. Take a look at the teams around the state who have won on the big stage, you will see teams with tremendous talent as well as strong disciplined head coach and program. We are building that here now. A sleeping giant lies dormant at USF, and I think the man has arrived who will finally wake it GO BULLS STAMPEDE WAR FLAMINGO
  5. His record at jacksonville is amazing no scholarships runs a hybrid of spurriors fun n gun
  6. He only captained and called the plays in the huddle for one of the best defenses in NFL history for the better part of 2 decades.
  7. Honestly it is attitudes like yours that have held USF athletics back for years and perfectly sums up the problems with our football program. Opening night this year UCF came into the brand new Sun Dome, they were louder and more spirited. They proceeded to kick our A$$ in one of the most humiliating moments in the history of USF basketball. I pledged to myself and my school after that night that I would do everything I could to never let an opposing team come into the Sun Dome and dominate the crowd noise. Students come to games at other schools because they feel they make a difference. You don't make a difference by being "respectful". Your viewpoint is lost and honestly it worries me that we have people in our fan-base as complacent as you. Its people like you that resulted in Skip Holtz, and the politcal correctness that has ruined all the progress our football program had made and basically regressed us back into modern day conference USA. Stay home don't bother coming near the student section the culture is changing and if you arent prepared to stand up and cheer on our school I will personally call you out for it.
  8. Succesful people are succesful in whatever they do this is no time for a conservative hire we need to go outside the box
  9. Ron Zook? Are you people on crack like it or not we need a huge name or we are going to be toast. We are no longer in a bcs conference screw experience we need somebody recruits will want to play for and the city will embrace. Brooks is this generations Lee Roy Selmon. I know he lacks the head coaching experience but this man could walk in to any recruits house in the state and immediantly demand respect. His playing days are over he is a winner and a great individual would love to see his next challenge be here with USF. Say what you want but how many of you would bet against his success i certainly wouldnt.
  10. No we don't want the kids in the student section...Would you ever think about bringing your kids to a UF football game in the student section? No that would be ridiculous, and its time we created that atmosphere for ourselves. This is Bulls basketball our students are wild and mean adapt its happening....
  11. USF student here, please do not bring your kids to the student section, this is no longer going to be a family atmosphere. It is sickening to see students sitting down at games and I for one will no longer allow it at my school. Look at the successful basketball programs around the country...Duke, Kentucky, UNC do you think their students sit down for a minute the entire game? The don't, they scream their tales off....People should leave the Sun Dome hopping they don't have to come back for a long time. We will talk trash, and we will be nasty, because this is what we have to be. I am tired of this politically correct stance this school has taken $u%k that. Do you want to sell out games and win or do you want a "family atmosphere". Join with me in harping on the opposing teams coaches, fans, and players. Together we can create a real home court advantage and help build a powerhouse in USF basketball. GO BULLS If you disagree stay home THANKS!
