  1. It concerns me that she used the words "guaranteed a bowl," when we are NOT guaranteed a bowl. We have ACCESS to one, but that's different. it's an important point because it's the reason we'd be better off in the ACC than the Big East (aside from money). Genshaft needs to appreciate that nuance.

I tend to think she relies on Woolard's advice for these kinds of things, so I guess it's not a real big deal. But I think this makes it clear that if ANYONE is calling the ACC on USF's behalf, it's not Genshaft, but Woolard.

She is basically a politician. Since right now we are a part of the Big East, of course she will give words of encouragement and overplay how great it is. She isn't an idiot, she knows we need to get out. But she will never say it.

  2. todd wright said usf fans can take the first 50 names on their wish list and cross them all off. he thinks this program is radioactive now that we are at the kiddy table.

what a deuche bag, we'll se about that.

He's an ass. The opportunity to recruit the hotbed that is Florida and take a well known "lesser" program to the next level and national prominence is huge. You win here and this will be known as your program forever , not a lot of schools get to say that. Not having to live in the shadow of Bobby Bowden or somebody else is a bigger draw than most.

  3. What does "guys who want to be Bulls" mean exactly? Presumably several members of what will end up being USF's upcoming recruiting class have not yet given a verbal commitment to the team. Do these guys want to be Bulls? Isn't their status now exactly the same as Woulard's - that is, not committed to USF? How soon in advance does a player have to swear an oath to play for USF to be allowed to play on you guys' football team, and how many players would actually be on the team if any university actually put such a naive viewpoint into policy?

Let me put it this way. I want USF to recruit really well, but I don't really care about it until signing day. I judge how they did based upon who they were able to sign, not some four or five star kid who led them by the nose for months but decided to wear a Miami lid on signing day.

Those guys who sign on signing day want to be USF Bulls. I don't have time for the other little boys that like to play games to impress their girlfriends on twitter. I understand and don't begrudge folks who follow recruiting... Just not my thing, personally.

    This.

I don't care for kids who toot their own horn just for the sake of attention. If he wants to do something special and he loves USF he will come. If not we wouldn't have wanted him anyway. We want team players, not divas.

  4. I expect to next autumn at Raymond James to be almost a carbon copy of this season.

We won't see any substantive wins until we're ensconced within CUSA-Phase II.

I would hope we don't see a team that collapses under pressure and gives up. Hopefully that is Holtz specific, a new coach can at least change that in a short time.

  5. From what I understand about Prado's recruiting, his problem is his inability to expand beyond local schools. At least that's what i have gathered from a few members on the board.

Coaching wise Prado is OK, but the team usually suffers from some kind of setback in the rotation every season and the bats dry up at the absolute worst times. The guy isn't inept, but baseball has been consistently mediocre.

  6. I was and still am 100% behind the field goal. I clapped when he sent the field goal unit out there, and I tweeted it in the moment, if anyone doubts me (@mike1625) .... the game was clearly lost and the thought that Bonani not be on the field for one play on senior day was unfair to the kid. If we didn't kick that field goal, and didn't convert (I think it was about a 4th and 4) he wouldn't have played. He is our all time leading scorer, and a leader.

As much as I hated kicking vs. Miami, this one was ok. Sometimes you have to do the right thing, even when it isn't easy .. and that was the right thing.

So you are saying coach had no faith in us converting and no faith in the offense to get down on that side of the field again.

Sorry. If it was the first time Holtz has doubted his players I might give the guy a pass, but he has done this too much this year. We all love Maikon, but not going for it disrespected all the names on those jerseys and the school they played for. Don't just lay down and die. Ever.

  7. Booing Matt Floyd was unacceptable, but I will take an "I was booing the removal of Evan Landi" as an excuse.

Booing Skip Holtz was entirely acceptable however. The man threw in the towel by kicking a field goal. I'm sorry, but here at USF I'm not going to support ANYONE who lays down and dies like that. I don't care if we are down 100-0 we try and win every down. Not doing so is disgusting and I have no time for losers like that. He deserved everything he got.

Skip said beating UF was his job. This team couldn't beat UCF.

  8. We have 23,000 season tickets holders aprox. Skips buy out is 500,000 a year. I bet most season ticket holders would be willing to pony up 5.00 per game if Skip is fired and a REAL head coach is brought in. (6 games x 23,000 season tickets holders = 660,000) The school would cover the cost of the firing and profit 160,000 JUST OFF Season ticket holders, not counting the individual ticket buyers. It would bascially cost the School NOTHING. In fact if you got a REAL HEAD COACH you may actually increase your season ticket holder base and make more money. WAKE THE HELL UP DOUG AND JUDY.

    simple Math.

A REAL head coach? How will you know the next one will be a REAL head coach. ... ?

Because he will be Superbowl winning coach Tony Dungy! With DC Michael Strahan and OC Jon Gruden, led by new AD Derrick Brooks. Duhhhhhhh.
