I am curious, in the past, the draw was tv sets. Bring them in a geography that you want and don't have, and you are desirable. What now? Some of the AAC school have good to very good academics, others not so much. Some large enrollment, others are small.

I guess the primary driver is money. How can expansion be spun to re negotiate the TV deals. The ACC needs a much better deal but with 2 AAC teams in Fl, the Florida teams are unlikely to be joining, maybe Cinci?

I do think the Big 12 will move quickly, so the wait to see the first moves will not be a long one IMO.

My thoughts as well. Academically, the best fit for USF is either the ACC or B1G. But unless FSU bolts to the SEC with this rumored 20 team super conference there is no chance the ACC adds any more teams from Florida, and geography along with our youth blocks us from the B1G.

  2. "Conticello is a South Florida signee. If he cannot come to an agreement with the Diamondbacks, he can stick to that college commitment. The No. 228 pick has a slot value of $186,300. Conticello said he would likely sign but it would depend on how contract negotiations go."

Stoneman Douglas infielder Gavin Conticello was selected by the Arizona Diamondbacks in the MLB draft on Monday.

Just dawned on me. This guy never played for USF. Was committed but ended winning or came in second in top amateur tournament so turned pro before attending.

That and he didn't meet the TOEFL score requirements. We've lost a couple different commits to that, some to UF since they have a lower score requirement.

  4. Haven’t seen anything official on this yet, but based on his Instagram it appears Isaac Nunez, formally of Lake Brantley HS and UF, has decided to transfer to USF.

  5. Based on his film, he's quick of the snap and isn't afraid to give up his body for the tackle. Also based on his size, you wouldn't expect him to be as quick as he is. Give him some time in the weight room, and soon we could be having a 6'5 300+ DT run stopping beast. He looks like a taller & more athletic version of Senat, which we have missed big time the last 2 seasons
