How can any athletic director in the country sell Skip Holtz to their fan base?

I think many bit on the name "Holtz" and his relative success at other schools. Me included. I thought he would be a good hire. Now I am wondering how the hell it could go so wrong.

Well, not really. I've seen things that help me understand.

Leavitt left the cupboard empty. Skip needs his own players. BJ can't make a short pass. WR have butterfingers. Humidity.

Let's start petitioning for that live Bull at games now. Ray Jay should have no issue, they don't seem to care that Skip violation all over USF football.

Holtz has lost the players. Holtz appeared cool, calm, and collected during last few meetings. Apparently the only ones on edge in the locker room are the assistant coaches, especially Cosh. General feeling among players is Holtz is getting one more year.

This is directly from a player's mouth. Nothing concrete but he feels Holtz is getting another year.

The players are ALWAYS the absolutely last party to find out.

Yeah, I kinda figured that. He said some pretty troubling things though. Aside from the players not caring anymore, their attitude going into games was that they were going to lose. Said players joked about forfeiting tonight's game. Players are more excited about an end of the season party they organized than the game. But this is all stuff we can assume after a season like this. Just thought I'd post what I heard from a friend who plays D.

I'm calling BS! You almost had me up until you implied that (a) you have a friend, and ( this person supposedly plays defense. No one on this team plays defense!

Thought I should mention, Musa is a real good guy. He lives in the complex next to mine so I always see him on the Bull Runner on our way to campus. This is a guy who's proud to be a bull and he shows it and tries to show his love for USF whenever he can. Wish I could say that for some of the other athletes.

That's funny considering there are more youth soccer clubs across America than football teams. On a national level, of course it can't compete with the NFL but to say that people don't care s rather ignorant.

Yeah but the vast majority of those kids quit when they are 13 or 14.

Been a while since you've visited any major sports complex in the bay area. There are several tournaments every year that attract teams from all over the country. There is a huge opportunity for tourism $$.

73% of kids quit before they turn 13. This is from US Soccer. Still, I would like USF to investigate the stadium issue.

The large quitting rate is due to the lack of a popular league like the NFL, MLB, or NBA. Unless you go overseas, there isn't a lot of money to be made in the MLS. Hopefully, as popularity for the league grows so will the money and the talent.

I'm thinking that much more than 2.5 mil will be lost if we keep Holtz. Skip is spineless. I don't want him or his useless good ole boys representing our university anymore.

What about the proven correlation of winning teams attracting hot girls? The loss of this is too great for our young program to overcome. I just don't see any sort of positive from sucking this season and last if we don't have a fine female to lean on. Or drool over. Holtz is turning this school into a total sausage fest.
