But you can’t pass the buck that way without some concern. It is a legitimate issue at the end of the day. There may not be a way...that’s all I am saying. If we are po we are po. I hope they find the $ and make it happen.

    Where there’s a will, there’s a way.

Let us see how strong of a will the former CFP COO/ 3x Super Bowl committee president/LRS assistant/ has in him.

Okay. You fire him. How do you pay him and the next guy?

It is quite literally Kelly’s job to make it work. That’s why he is the AD. Find the funds in the couch cushion, or raise them.

Can you put a value on the amount of long term damage this program will sustain with another year of Charlie Strong? On top of how far he has already set us back?

Time to get creative. Just like the creativity Harlan showed in creating this horrible contract in the first place. To say such creativity is impossible in this circumstance is short sighted.

Would it be difficult? Sure. Financially painful? Sure. Worth it in the long run? Absolutely.

So can we start what Taggart left behind after Flowers?  Well that is a great start. I'm sure you don't  want me to compare the NFL talent recruited by both coaches. It's not even close!!!

How about you directly acknowledge my arguments instead of ignoring my points:

2 winning programs greatly regressed under Strong in the past 6 years.

Charlie lacks an understanding of modern college offenses.

He lacks guts on the field and charisma at the podium.

Well they didn't fail at other schools. Someday you will come to the realization that P5 schools are stacked talent. We have D3 talent. I would take all our portal gets again.

    Who recruited our “D3 talent”?

Was it Taggart, who has multiple former recruits balling out in the NFL?

Or was it Chuckles? And why would that change with Chuckles moving forward? Why would his recruiting suddenly improve in offseason #4, after three seasons of diminishing returns?

Talk football....what do you think would fix this program's personnel wise?

A coach who hasn’t killed two programs in a six year span.

A coach who has something more to say after a loss than “we gotta execute better”

A coach with a sense of always-evolving college offenses.

A coach with guts and charisma.

So you agree we me in thinking that USF may be stuck with CCS for one more season? I agree that coaches tend to get scared away from programs like USF that will fire them if they have a losing season. IPF shows everyone the commitment. Sure having a good coach helps but that is not realistic right now. We got to ride this storm out

    Hell. No.

We are only stuck with him if Michael Kelly isn’t capable of doing his job. He’s got 48 hours to prove his worth.

Any coach should be worried about getting fired for having three seasons of diminishing returns. Regardless of if it’s USF or somewhere in the SEC.

Name me a coach that USF has realistically sought, who has been scared away.

No coach would ever look at the construction of an IPF as a personal commitment to their continued coaching at the institution regardless of results.

Having a good coach is not realistic? Sir, your defeatist attitude is not welcome here.

I hear you. Hate to lose the support but what can we do? We just got to ride out one more season at the most. It still is not a conclusion that CCS will be back. All it takes is big boosters to work behind the scenes to get the buy out money. My question is who would want to come here right now? Hopefully USF steps up with the IPF announcement in the offseason to pump some life back in the program

An IPF announcement isn’t going to pump life back into the program. In a couple years when it’s built, sure it will help. But if you’re banking on just an announcement to turn things around, you are delusional.

Who would want to come here right now, seeing how Charlie has imploded the program, and knowing that he would be a lame duck?

What recruiting leverage does Charlie have at this moment?

  8. Posted this in the wrong thread:

We have won 5 games in a row that we were expected to win.

Many teams don’t win every game they are expected to win.

I also did not expect us to be 5-0 given the amount of roster turnover this year.

Are we one of the 25 best teams in the country? No. Do we deserve to be in the Top 25 this week, based on established ranking formulas and precedent? Yes, but barely.
