I mean, wasn’t that technically a bad FSU team? If there are such things as quality losses, can’t there also exist non-quality wins?
Not trying to rain on your parade, because I immediately thought FSU as well. I just thought about it some more.
They were ranked #18. We just exposed them.

I think I could pull for USF to beat Gonzaga.

USF probably already has a new contract in the works. They're probably waiting for the end of the post-season to write a final number in.
Wouldn't doubt that, but that doesn't mean we won't get outbid.

Maybe he won't get poached for another year then

This kind of supports those claims we should drop to a lower division. Whoda thunk that could work?

Much superior group to be associated with, in more relevant markets which will be better for USF alumni to have exposure to. We’ll have exposure to top academic institutions on the East and west coast, which is much better than the flyover rejects of the Big12.
we should also resume a rivalry with UCF, it’s good for both universities because it gets ratings, such a natural rivalry.
If we get into the ACC, then I don't give a rat's ass about playing Central Florida.

OCS helps grow the fanbase and future TV ratings by increasing the exposure of the student body to football by the proximity of the stadium being on campus.
Anyone against the OCS also required extra time to take tests in school.
I'm pro-OCS. TV networks will only invest if there is an ROI.

I was at the West Virginia game many moons ago at RJ packed to the rafters..
Win games and everything else falls into place.
We build a stadium and stop progressing or worse regress the stadium will do absolutely nothing to help the situation.
Win. Just win.
I was there too. A winning season or two isn't enough.
Even Nick Saban said there must always be investment, even at Alabama.

What gets us into a better conference is one single thing: the ability for TV to make money off of our fanbase.
Things like winning, ocs, game attendance, away game fan presence, etc all help in proving that there is ROI for any networks that want to advertise to our fans.

They have stuff to do lined up in Boca as well

Can politicians focus? Fix the roads and bridges, build a school or library, or do something that could be construed as being productive for society. Instead they keep trying to score brownie points by doing these diversionary moves.
Thought this was a ruling by a judge?

Actually…who you know and who likes you is the most likely way to move up in most business. Those relationship are built on things that are normally not work related…like sports. For example, I know the head of investment banking at a local financial firm loves Michigan. I know this because he mentions Michigan football in meetings any chance he gets. Guess what he’s never mentioned…Michigan’s AAU. Why? Because no one outside of a few academic departments benefiting from research grants actually cares.
Guess how he got the job? It wasn't because Michigan beat OSU...

I’ve yet to see anyone personally identify an actual tangible benefit from it. Wikipedia says the biggest benefit is “prestige” lol. Outside of that it looks like AAU schools get more research grants. Seems extremely narrowly focused compared to the benefit to the school and all alums from having a top tier athletic program.
PS I’m still waiting for my Fortune 500 employer to send me my congratulations and pay raise…unbelievably rude of them.
Lol, but your college athletics conference will get you that raise. Go tell MIT & all the Ivy League schools quick.

I've donated over 100k to athletics and attended every home game since 2004 and over 50 away games. I'm done guys. I don't want to be associated with these universities in conference let alone lose or get destroyed by them. If I could get in a time machine and make a different choice of universities I would. I will be back on board if we get in a power league, but until then, I'm saving my money, time, and energy. Good on anybody sticking it out. I've been through enough. Time for USF to start paying back on the investment.
You were justified until you said you should've picked a different university. See ya, don't come back.

If CJS hired a good Defensive Coordinator he would still be here probably looking at a 4-1 record. Offense wasnt the issue. Shame on him. His decisions cost him his job as it should. He will get another shot one day if he chooses and I wish him luck.
Go Bulls
He hired his Bresnahan/Cosh & paid for it.
