Lynyrd Skynard is from Florida and is the best southern rock band of all time. I get the reference though because of one of their hit songs.  We should be pleading with Bama to "Gimme me three steps" before they kill us on the field would fit more appropriately.

three steps towards the door... nah.

I prefer UF's 4th quarter song... Stand me up at the gates of hell, and I won't back down.

Thre's a part of me that thinks that even if you do OBTAIN better talent, the real heavy lifting is RETAINIG said talent in the more challenging portal/nil era. Human nature being what it is, there are more forces at work than the let's-go-team! environment of yesteryear. If things aren't panning out here, no reason not to turn in my papers and head over there. Why stick around for four years hoping that I might get a highlight reel in year four? Striking while the iron is hot and all of that..🤨

Yes.  Portal gives and the portal takes.

When the University of South Florida kicked off its first football season in 1997, the program's offices were headquartered in a glorified trailer on campus known as the...

That was the one I saw, but then I had to search to get the link to share and the ap article came up.  They're all the same.

Just to clarify, this is old. The meeting has already been rescheduled to September 8 (tomorrow). There's a zoom link. Here are all the details.

I echo the sentiments of everyone else. Just hand these "concerned" people a box of tissues and start construction. Serious people have work to do.

Edit... I just realized I was responding to the wrong post. My bad.

I just love how we spend all this freaking money on academics for two decades and now that we need to actually do something with athletics, the academics are whining about it.  It's not like they're being neglected.

The University of South Florida is looking for some big changes when...

they misspelled "University that spent the last 2 decades chasing State Preeminent status, obtaining that and AAU membership, finally shows commitment to Athletics, the front door and marketing for many Universities."

They mention AAU in the article.

If true, someone should have made the decision to get BA in there. 18 year old making his 3rd start has too much to focus on to have to do it not 100% ....

I think that's a hard balance between coach and player. Coach wants to show he's trusting him to do the job, so he wants to play through.  Admire the stick-to-it-iveness

Also how did Brown start out accurate including hitting that nice deep pass?

After that I noticed chaos and swarming at the line.  At other times it seemed like we were calling plays so fast that the rest of the offense wasn't ready.

He's had amazing accuracy up to this point including in that game.  Makes me think it's the confusion of the pace of the new offense and getting mugged at the line.

No one else seems to be agreeing or saying these things but that's what I thought at the game.

He might have been hurting.... I could tell about three or four plays before that end zone interception that he was hurting.  Just the look in his face on camera... Then he took that crazy sack and was hurting there. So I'm sure he was playing through pain.

But yes, for most of the second half he was missing passes that should have been gimmies.
