  1. Wow, haven't heard that name in AGES.  What were the names of the guys again?  I went to HS with one of them and cannot recall his name.  I believe his first name was Sean/Shaun something.  Was his last name Travis?

    Thx

Called the wife, she recalled Sean/Shaun Travis and Jack Peak were the two main guys.

Wow, I remember both of those guys now!!  Haven't heard those names in over 20 years!!

Thanks for the trip down memory lane

    Thx

  2.

And then ESPN countered by offering a hobo's d1ck cheese.

I hear that's not too bad with fumunda crackers
    Topped with mega smegma.
Mega Smegma? Did you know those guys?
I didn't know them, but I knew of them. :)

We have all of their CDs. I've never heard anyone mention them before.

The guitar player is one of my best friends. They still play on occasion, usually at the Mug.

  3. I worked with a pair of twin MDs who were Stanford grads. When one of them told me about 10 years ago that Stanford had the winningest athletic department, across all sports, I didn't believe him. Sure enough...

My gfriend is a Stanford grad and told me the same thing (also a MD, maybe everyone who graduates from there is a DR)

I visited there this summer, amazing campus, I would never leave if I went there!

    Thx,

    jonpfl

  4. The ACC

    FSU out

    USF in.....

    Hopefully

    Or UCF

    NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!........................

It's hard not to make a good case for them at this point:

    Larger student body than USF.

On-campus stadium/better gameday environment than USF.

No BCS experience but more successful in CUSA than USF when it moved to a BCS conference.

Arugably better location for road trips than USF.

    Stable coaching situation.

    Better basketball.

    Competitive academically to USF.

Don't forget on probation as well!

    Thx

  5. AW has been dreaming of a better program than USF for a while. Look at his hardon for NCST. Any kid who is committed and then starts taking official visits eslewhere is never 100%.

Are you sure about that? I have never been in a situation like this but I can only assume I would want to take some free trips

I bet most HS FB take more than one OV before deciding (even if they are have already verbally committed)

I am more worried about the HC over a recruit right now

    Thx

  6. Skip will remain. Word on campus going through all the offices right now is that USF would rather not buy him out. Too much moola.

Actually, it doesn't make sense when people keep saying "too much money to fire him".

They have to pay him $500k a year for 5 years if they fire him after this year. If they hire a new HC for $1.5m, it is the same as keeping him ($2m spent per year)

    Thx,

    jonpfl

  7. Vega...how impressed are you overall with this class and what do you think Heath will do with the two ships for next year?

I love the class. I also still have my fingers crossed that Demetrius Henry can get his academics in order and USF can add him this coming Spring. Egbunu and Perry are high ceiling guys that are constantly getting better as neither has played that much basketball in their careers. Dre Clayton is a BEAST!!! I'm hoping his groin injury heals completely so he can continue his intense training to transform his game to a true college combo forward. He's my favorite player in this class right now. Bo Zeigler is a guy that was considered a top 60 player in the nation back in the spring. He's still one of the top 2 or 3 players in the state of Michigan. He's a long 6-7 guy that needs to add some muscle to his frame, but I love his talent and sees big things from him at USF. He reminds me of a young Tracy McGrady.

Josh Heath shouldn't be on scholarship at USF, but that doesn't mean he can't play. He will bring a high basketball IQ, leadership, and competitive drive to the PG position. I have had my doubts about Drew Davis in the past, because I would have liked to seen him against AAU competition more to get a better judge of his talent. However I know he can flat out shoot the long ball if left open. The defense will have to respect that ability when he's on the floor. Unlike Noriega, I don't believe Davis will lose his shot when the bright lights are on.

I'm also confident that Heath and staff are looking at more then Henry to maybe add this spring. Should a talented Big or another SG be out there they could also go that way. It is not a guarantee that Grayson Allen is still an option for USF with schools like Duke, UNC, NC St, and maybe UK now taking a great interest. My dream class for 2015 would be PG Joel Berry, SG Grayson Allen/Adonys Henriquez, and SF Dwayne Morgan.

So, if D Henry is added in the spring, would that mean he would be here for the BE portion of the schedule?

    Has he committed to USF?

    Thx

Right now we don't have any scholarships for 2013 ... which means none for Henry.

What about the scholarship that was for Waverly Austin?

    Thx

  9. If there's one thing Skip HAS done, it's get our offense moving in the right direction and seeing potential in offensive players (ie: Price). If we could hold a team to 2 or 3 scores, we'd win every game. Now imagine it with AW at the helm, we'd be sitting pretty. If our D is fixed by the end of this year we will be O.K.

Not to play devil's advocate but I figured it toss this article out there that was recently published:

    http://footballrecru...asp?CID=1429482

bullet.gif Think quarterback recruiting is all but over with the top 35 pro-style quarterbacks committed and 24 of the top 25 dual-threats already verbals? Not so fast.

The nation's No. 2 dual-threat quarterback, Asiantii Woulard, is committed to USF and the Bulls are 2-6 (0-4 in the Big East) with losses to Ball State, Temple and Syracuse on the resume.

Skip Holtz is on the hot seat and with Woulard allowed to showcase his ability at the U.S. Army All American Bowl in January, you can bet it will be tempting for a high-level BCS school to make a run.

If so many top tier HS QBs are committed, it really doesn't make sense to flip flop at the last moment since I can only assume most high level BCS schools are already set with other top tier QBs.

AW is going to come to USF with a bunch of talented guys on offense and probably start right away!!

  10. A good coach would have USF competing for BE championship.

A great coach would have USF in the Big 12.

    Holtz destroyed USF football.

USF is LUCKY the BE was able to be patched back together otherwise would have been demoted back to CUSA or Sun Belt.

    Thanks Coach Holtz.

we may be thrown out of the BE. We may very well be 1-13 in conference in 2 years.

    Hilarious.

I can't wait for Leavitt's players that are starters now to be in the rear view mirror. They are a HUGE part of the problem.

Wow, didn't realize Skippy posted here!

  11. Death Row? Suge Knight AND Gallagher are USF alumni?!?

Yes, Death Row. Used to be one of the best student cheering sections in the country back in the 90s. And I believe that they are one of the reasons the NCAA had to make rules about where students could sit related to the opponents bench.

I remember my disappointment when I was told my friends and I could not sit behind the visitors bench in row 1 anymore!!

Still remember my friends and I working the MD coach about his DUI and him getting upset.

    Good memories!

  12. Bulls247 â€@Bulls247

Matthew Stafford, a 1st rd NFL draft pick started 10 of 13 games his first year on campus and threw 7 TD's to 13 INT's.

    Bulls247 â€@Bulls247

5 of the last 9 Elite 11 MVPs did not step on the field their freshman year.

Man o man, I was thinking that AW would come in and light it up. Time to curve those expectations!

Who really cares about stats, there is only one that matters at the end of the game!!

It is now like the Bulls can do worse (well, I guess going 0 - 10 in BE games vs 1 - 9)

Looking forward to football NEXT year

    Thx

  13. Pretty awesome morning.

Stan Heath called my cell phone regarding USF basketball Season tickets. I had sent an inquiry to John Lewis about tickets a week or two back, but haven't made a decision about whether to get them or not.

So, Stan Freaking Heath calls me and talks USF basketball with me and says, "We'd love to have your support and want to fill the dome." My response, "I'm in!" So, now I am a proud new owner of USF basketball tickets.

    Go Bulls!

    That is so cool

  14. Doubledown,

Calm down. We all (even Bull94) love AW. He just wants our crazy ass fans to temper their expectations. As soon as this kid takes a snap for USF they will want the next guy.

He is not yet an NFL talent. He is a very talented senior high school qb.

In my book he needs to first sign his LOI. Then he needs to get onto campus. Then he needs to take the starting job from Floyd and Eveld (if he is as good as we all think he is, that should not be hard), then he needs to complete a pass in college with bullets flying. Then he needs to develop. Hopefully along the way he becomes the best quarterback USF has ever had. But first he needs to stay commited and sign that letter.

I am thinking more along the lines of best QB the state of FL has ever produced!! I can dream, right?

    Thx

  15. not renewing in many cases won't hurt the program from the AD's perspective--- as it will open up tickets in high dollar donor zones that were grandfathered in at very low donor levels.

The Bucs tried something like this by sucking balls for a few years around the time seat deposit refunds were about to come due to fans. Then they made those who stuck it out sign another 3 year deal and continued to suck. I finally gave up on them-- they can have my paltry $300 or whatever it is-- I wasn't paying $1600 a season to watch that product on the field.

not that I think USF has that in mind -- but the impact is similar. Donor levels aren't going to revert if sales suffer-- but they probably should.

I disagree. Why would any new fan be willing to plop down the crazy amounts they are asking for a very bad product?

Right now, USF has been getting $1k from me for my seats and I can only assume they want to continue to get $1k from me since it will be really hard to get $3k right now

    Thx

  16. Did DataBull not watch the game?

I watched the game and the replay. They did not show it in slow motion or zoomed in. I saw the helmet come off, but that doesn't automatically mean there was a face mask grab. I don't like to assume anything.

It was very obvious to me it was a facemask, I can only assume you are watching on a 27" tube tv not in HD!

And to see the replays over and over again in slow motion and the announcers not mentioning it was amazing to me. Maybe I just have good eyes or something

    Thx
