Wrong.

Seems like a real long shot.

Thanks for the link...matter-of-fact and no reaction comments yet. WKU is a classy school from what I've experienced there.
-
I like it...hope Coach T keeps it.
-
Maybe it can come from the same pot DW's incentives would have if we'd won the NC this year.

Can't see DW making Coach T keep Cosh...
No, but does that $300k come out of the 2013 assistant salary pool?
Fair question, but you have to hope not. Since we're "saving" almost that much from firing Holtz even with his buyout it's hopefully a wash budget-wise.
-
What do you mean awful move?!
-
No. Oh wait, HELL YES

So I see that the assistant coach pool is $1.9 million, up from $1.85 according to this article (http://www.tampabay....last-years-pace).
Fitch - $280,000
Patrick - $170,000
Scott - $170,000
Smith - $210,000 DB Coach - this guy should have his LinkedIn account ready.
Vass - $190,000
Hargreaves - $190,000
Shankweiler - $185,000
Cosh - $325,000 (I threw up in my mouth typing this)
Pathon - $80,000
The assistant pool was going to increase to 1.9 million for this year any way.
Taggart is going to bring in Blackwell and Woodie. Those guys are in the position much like Taggart where they can get a substantial pay increase, to compensation that is very fair for their experience, and still be making less than their former counterparts here. You can start them "low," probably 140 or less. KP and Scott look likely to remain, and probably at similar or slight pay raises. No reason to pay a TE coach 190k or a lame DB coach 210K or a guy who coaches only half the D Line 190K.
Also, last years salaries also only total up to 1.8, so I think you can find another 150-200k to spend just by bringing in a couple younger coaches and using the rest of the money that wasn't utilized last year ( or we don't know how it was used, as it was allocated after the article was published).
The question is USF prepared to buy Cosh out or are they handicapping Taggart with that salary?

Go ladies hoopers!!

Stay classy, Tampa.

Just slip out the back, Jack
Make a new plan, Stan
You don't need to be coy, Roy
Just get yourself free
Hop on the bus, Gus
You don't need to discuss much
Just drop off the key, Lee
And get yourself free
Just hop on my back, Jack
We got a new plan, Stan
We're nobody's toy, Roy
Just get in your seat
Let's all ride the new bus, Gus
and you will see
That Willie T will drive us
to where we wanna be.
Love it!...send this to the studio and cut the record!

Wonder if the philosophy will be to clean house and start new, or keep some of our good assistants. This time I wouldn't mind the first approach as much.

Nothing definite yet, but word is 1.5ish and WKU starts search right away.
-
Agree that it shouldn't matter...but it still does to a lot of people. And people's perceptions can be important for lots of reasons. I think Vega's sentiments are just telling it like it is...no reason to bash him.

I hope he gets pissed like Leavitt, but loves players like Holtz
Maybe not quite that pissed...

Welcome Coach T!

To be honest, she sounds a little stupid. "very, very"... "really, really"...it doesn't make it more superflous to say that twice, President Genshaft. "The search is amazing." Uh...yeah. This weed is amazing too.
It's really great that you say she sounds stupid ... and then say something that makes you sound stupid. Assuming you meant "superfluous" and just spelled it wrong, you don't seem to have any idea what that word means. If anything, repeating adverbs like that IS superfluous - it is unnecessary and usually adds nothing worthwhile to the statement.
Thanks for the spellcheck, professor. I do understand the definition, though--just a little pun that didn't meet your high standards. To explain, one "very" or "really" would have already been supreflooous in the following stupid statement to describe "interested" or "optimistic". The second "very" or "really" was even more sooperfilus.
"People have been calling and giving us names of those who are very, very interested. Really, really high level people and we’re very optimistic."
I also note that you do not argue that she sounded a little stupid. 'Cause she did.

Man, I hope Woolard doesn't botch this.

Need FSU to be poached to even have a shot...

HAHAHA--hilarious thread!

There continues to be talk USF would be considered for ACC. Blaudshun reports that ACC may go to #16 and if they do might choose USF. This is where USF needs to make it happen.
Link?...I have not seen anything remotely promising in this line.

Ideas about starting cheers and traditions!...this has NEVER been discussed on here or anywhere in USF Athletics before, wow! And bashing on the band is helpful too, so original!
Let's consider that the issue here may be that USF has no sustained record of success in basketball and our fan base--Bullspen company excluded, of course--is bush league. The band is doing their best to inject some life into the Frankenstein monster, and I think they're doing an incredible job. Considering that just 7 years ago they couldn't even get 15 players at a game and complained if they couldn't play "Hey Baby" every quarter, this band is much, MUCH closer to being a legit college band than our fan base is to being a legit fan base. Look at the rest of the SunDome for the real rejects and nerds.

Agree. UCF would have owned us this year.
