  1. I think he made some passes that I haven't seen since Blackwell.  Grothe and Daniels were both unbelievable gamers and made all kinds of great things happen, but they didn't see the field as well as White appeared to in this one game.

Now, again, it is one game.  The part that is exciting to me is that he looked as good in this game as he did in his high school highlight reel.  That has my hopes a little higher than just one good game.

I saw these things that we have struggled with for the last 10 years:

    1. stepping through progression with haste
    2. passes over the middle (had great vision)
    3. touch passes (a couple beauts!)
    4. hot routes against the blitz (they didn't blitz much, but he beat them most of the time)

These things make me excited about this kid.  He has tiny arms, yes, but man he launches that ball quickly.  Lots of potential.  Coach needs to get this kid ready to ball next game (and wait for the team to set before calling for motion).  Of course, coach needs to do this after he makes sure our defense is reminded that when the guy on the other team has the ball you are supposed to put his butt on the ground!

  2. I guess you missed the multiple times I've said it was a bad call. Take some more Dexedrine and hammer your point home a few more times. Ill be here while watching the Dolphins lose.

Good one dude.  I like the way you insulted him for no reason by stating he is using some sort of prescription drug.  Wait, I don't get it.  Could you explain?

I do have a question for you if you would bother to participate.  If you had to pick one play that had the greatest impact on the outcome which play would you choose?  Just a hypothetical, not that the game stops and we win after the play, but as a Bulls fan, which play do you think could have changed the outcome more?

(Fixed it the drug you accused the person of using is a prescription drug.  Sorry, I'm not a doctor or a pharmacist.  )

  3. Man some of you guys make Louisville sound like Bama. The fact is anyone in our conference is beatable on any given day. There is not one elite team that is a definitive loss on our schedule from this point on. There are tough teams but shoot Cinci is a tough team. If our defense keeps the turnovers coming then anything can happen. That's my optimism for the day.

This is true. Remember 2007? We were "ranked" #2 in the nation and then got beat by 3 unranked conference opponents in a row. Louisville is good. They are way better than us. Bridgewater is the real deal. But they are definitely beatable.

When we say "they are definitely beatable"...UCF proved that out, but doesn't necessarily mean 'beatable' by us. Or were you speaking in the more philosophical vein that anything can happen on any given Saturday (ala Appalachain State @ Michigan), embracing the blind hog game strategy?

    :FIREdevil:

  4. I think Pierre could show up for this game.  If he gets 20+ carries he should rush for over 100.

Defense should be there.  We need them to keep UCONN under 18 points and a score or turnover to field goal would be GREAT!

I just hope that more than anything the team has had a little taste of winning and that Coach T can make them want more.  I always felt with Holtz we were complacent after the smallest of wins.  At least we had small wins then.  Now any win is HUGE!

  5. We did have Delbert Alvarado between the Gramaticas and Bonani. ;)

As terrible as he could be, he did end up helping us win the Auburn game and I'll be forever grateful for that.

Grateful? That guy owes me four boxes of just for men and 8 years of my life for that game alone!

He nearly lost that game for us! Yes he made a chip shot to tie, but how many 'winners' did he miss?

Best game ever, but lots of grey hairs and high blood pressure on special teams that night.

Now if I am indebted to him for something it would be that sweet ass rap he made!

  6. MiamiNed needs a life. Bashing typos and hounding a team he swears is irrelevant. We'll we beat your team once so that should **** you to the cellar for life, right?

You know it doesn't all add up. Also, I don't believe he is a true alumn. What is your degree in and when did you graduate? I know some people how attended the u throughout the years and their attitude doesn't align with yours, but I'd love to see if by chance they could corroborate your claim of attendance.

As for the NOA you speak of, that is BS and even your and your ignorance know that. You really think that your scumbag booster was tossing illegal funds around in 2010 and none of your top recruits were impacted or swayed. Hey, that's the big league and we aren't there yet, but as long as we beat you at your stadium once I a while I'll take the high road over your path of constant cheating throughout the years.

Let me guess, the cheating people are all gone so that means that the University shouldn't be punished. That's crap. The institution should pay, otherwise therenwould be marters all over NCAA athletics.

Enjoy the game. I know I will, no matter the outcome.

  7. Not that I hope, I think if you break the rules you should be punished...

Can you name the people on campus who cheated and deserve to be punished? Thanks in advance.
We'll name them after the NCAA report is released.
Oh, you don't get it, I guess. Everyone named in the NOA is gone. Athletes, employees, all gone. You guys want to punish a bunch of coaches and kids who came in after the fact.
The kids that were recruited by breaking the rules. Sounds good punish them.

Huh? What current kids were recruited by breaking the rules? You people need to catch up with the story.

    The allegations run from 2002 - 2010.

You do know Miami isn't a community college right. That means that anyone in their red shirt sophomore / junior year or older were recruited during that period.

Make sense? Or was the math to hard...

  8. I'm an eternal optimist but I wouldn't go as far to say we are "...under rated right now.".

I'm just saying that if you had told me in August that 3 weeks in we would have the 23rd ranked defense in total defense and that Shaw was averaging over 130 a game I would never believe that we were 0 - 3.

The numbers only support games lost by turnovers, big plays, and special teams. We are better than our record.

    No we aren't.

Ir defense has faced two of the worst offenses in the country. Lets see how we fare against Miami before puffing our chests.

This is a bad football team right now, we're rated correctly.

Was going to post something similar re: the level of competence of the offenses we've played. If our 1st 3 opponents had been L'ville, Miami and Cinci my guess is we wouln't be at #23 in the country.
Most schools have weak schedules for the first three games. We are compared to those schools. We'll see, but if you want to believe we suck worse than any school in the country go ahead. By the end of this season we'll be a better team. That hasn't been true for nearly 10 years and makes me think we aren't as bad as it record.

I get it though, it hurts less when you lower the bar. If you think we would lose to fau or mcneese again your crazy. Those were flukes two untimely low probability flukes.

Are we good, no not by our expectations, but not 119 in 1a. Not true.

  10. Oh the 80s, fond memories are always good.

Lucky UM will win NCAA sanctions by year end for cheating...basking in the glory.

You can only hope. Like I said before, the NCAA can't touch anything that Skip Holtz did. Those were some harsh sanctions that dude passed down on y'all. If someone had the choice of death penalty or hire Skip Holtz.......shut us down, thank you.

Skip screwed us, true, but Shannon gives him a run for his money. We did beat you at home with Skipper at the helm. What's that say about you?

  11. Horrible news to wake up to this morning. Steve and I went to the USF-Army game up at West Point and stood through a driving rain with our USF flags on display for College Game Day that morning (there was more to that story, but considering I married a girl that graduated from West Point last week, I don't want to share my less than fond memories of that experience in NY). Steve picked me up at the airport with his daughter in tow and gave me the spare bed in his room that weekend as I was still a student and money was tight. He always said to me that if it wasn't for his wife's ability to make good money at her job, his support for USF wouldn't be on the level that it was. He was so appreciative of her hard work. Someone please relay to her that Steve never failed to bring up how much she backed him up during the good times and bad - because Steve would be the first to admit that he was as eccentric as they come and his passion for USF was beyond rabid. A part of me died today when I found out that Steve O'Neal had passed. There was nothing politically correct about Steve - and he would joke with me about how the ultra-PC USF officials wouldn't want to kiss his ass like other donors, but they sure did love taking his family's donations. I'll miss you buddy. We had many beers together over the last decade - it's 5:35 AM and I'm going to crack a cold one for you this morning. RIP Steve O'Neal - you will be missed sorely by those of us that could relate to you and your passion for the Green and Gold.

    Love ya...

    Terry

Faza - Yes, Steve had the tats on his arms.

I know his family is checking this thread, but when his wife comes back to work I'll swing by and pass your message along in person. I've never had then opportunity to work with her, but my office is located very near her's and will make it a point to say hi and pass our sympathies and your message.

  13. Miami is a good team. We are not right now.

That being said Miami is over rated and we are under rated right now. This game could be close, but depends on turnovers.

We have a tough defense and a good running game. There is a lot of talk about there duke dude, but through three very similar opponents Shaw seems to be out performing him and that is with virtually no threat of a passing game.

We will probably run the ball a lot, they will try to throw it around on us. If this is the game that our d line puts it together Miami could be shocked.

We have as much talent on the d line as anyone. A little pressure changes many things.

I'm talking myself into believing, so it is probably time for some shut eye. I prefer to do my dreaming with my eyes closed!
