After the crowd cleared out in the 4th quarter, security came down and took the one in our section.  It was almost right on cue with my brother saying "remember when security wouldn't let us have beach balls".

yes! The USF guests in the white shirts, I think they were high school students in the corner wearing the white USF shirts were having a blast with it.

    Then it disappeared LOL

    Confiscated by the fun police

  2. "Sweeeeeeet Caroline.... bah bah bah!"

In the 20 years I've been going to the USF games, that was the loudest, most perfect singing I've ever seen at a USF game.

My dad flew in from Texas and came to the game with me, and even he was shocked how perfect the crowd sang that song. He asks "How did all the students know the lyrics to that song??"

You want a tradition? That's got my vote

  3. The "Hit Hootie" promotion is wack. They've had it since they came to Raymond James back in 1999 if I remember correctly.

Line up people 30 yards away from a moving target, give them a full sized football, and let the target dodge the throws... done!

I love Hooters and I definitely appreciate them sponsoring our team, but these poor people need a MUCH smaller football to throw. People hit hootie.. maybe once a season? If that?

  4. I started at USF in 1996, when the program was being built

In no way, did I ever think Leavitt plateaued. He brought so much passion, so much energy, so much love to USF football. Sure, we weren't FSU yet, but we were building something. It was fun, exciting, respectable, and everyone was behind it

Leavitt was an amazing, humble, loving coach and I genuinely missed him when he left.

I love Taggart, I remember watching Taggart whoop us in 1998 as the quarterback for Western Kentucky. He was awesome to watch. He's a great coach and I love seeing what he's done for us

Leavitt was great people, he really was and I think he was an awesome coach. I would have gladly stuck with him as coach for a long time

  5. It was pretty **** windy last night. It's a pretty tight landing space when you consider they have to clear the field goal net cable, which is about 70-80 feet high. And the scoreboards

Much rather safe than sorry, I genuinely would hate for someone to get hurt because of how hard the wind was blowing.

And yes, the National Anthem was TRULY beautiful. For those who missed it, it started with a single trumpet, and as the song went on, more and more band members joined in.

    It was very moving!

  6. It sucks, but it's certainly not the current player's fault at all

I have friends who literally started at USF as a freshman, and graduated and didn't see a single winning season. Went to dozens of losing home games.

The firing of Leavitt and the "Holtz Era" caused a horrific amount of damage to the support of the USF Football Team.

We are slowly getting that back, but it's going to take a little bit.

  7. Some of my favorite people from the original USF team-

Leon Matthews was my roommate in Fontana Hall, was a perfect gentleman and loved the guy to death. Great person!

Bernard Brown (Defensive Back), I've seen in Panther Trace occasionally doing private football training. He's still in INCREDIBLE shape, and he and his wife are truly genuine people. Bernard Brown had that terrible ankle break, when he collided with Demetrious Woods on the sideline during a play.

Gotta give some love to Andre Waters, our original Secondary Coach. He ended his life several years ago, many blame the concussions he got while playing in the NFL. I shook his hand once and he was a nice person

Ryan Benjamin was the long snapper for the Bucs when they won the Superbowl, had a MASSIVE sideline hit on the punt returner during the game, would love to see that video again! He also got me a football used in the first ever USF game, he was roomates with my friend Pat

Larry Scott - Used to see him eating in Fontana Hall, super proud of him working his way up the coaching ladder to interim coach University of Miami. I've never cheered for UM until he was the coach, that was awesome

  8. Yes! If your tickets say "Club Access", you have access to the air conditioned part of the stadium. There are two of them that go down the sidelines

It's a beautiful area to check out, lots of comfy couches and TV's

Welcome to Tampa by the way! I dated a girl who lived in Greenville for a short period of time, we went to Starlight Cafe and Wasabi 88, had a great time in Greenville even though it's a small town!

If you need any more tips or advice of what to do in Tampa, we'd love to help!

  9. FSU is FSU

They are strong, they are peak athletic players, they never get tired, they are all super fast, incredibly strong, and they know their stuff

They go into each season competing for a national title (as they are expected to)

We are teach hoping to win our conference, playing against a team that was put together from top to bottom to win the national championship

FSU played an amazing game, and it takes a team like that to show you where you are weak. It was a good learning lesson
